& is all well?
:rotfl:
It'll give me some practice in loading and removing sims, thats for sure.Happy Friday:D:eek::eek: 7 duvets:eek::eek::rotfl::rotfl:
Three times, actually - I used to have nine2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I don't quite remember *why* I bought - I suspect that in the house I used to live in, on the south coast, I just sort of lost track of where I stored them, and then needed some for a short-notice visit, and if that happens twice, then you're stuffed, basically
Three times, actually - I used to have nine
Nine is a lucky number in some cultures. May be worth getting nine of something smaller than duvets though..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Wow karma loads of work and decluttering going on
glad you are taking it easy too. Hope the probate trip is hassle free.

The builder sounds like a good find.
I need to tackle some more brambles too, I got a thorn stuck in my finger last weekend even with wearing proper gloves, nasty things.0 -
Smaller things would be good
Thanks for the good wishes on the probate trip, EE - it should be fine, we're all in agreement about priorities, almost entirely so, and any differences of opinion are so tiny they won't be problematic. One of the funniest came to light just this week: I think the drinks cabinet is unbearable 70s kitsch (it has a light inside, and when you open it, the *top* also lifts up, meaning it can't be used to have anything on it) and my sister loves it, she remembers playing with it.
The pointing continued to go well after I last posted, though with the shed, there's a few quite deep holes that can't have mortar in them, as they're next to wood, they need a more flexible filler. Not urgent in terms of "do it in the next few days or it will fall down"
I'm going to use the scaffolding thats still up to clean the outside of the upstairs windows! I'll take a phone, just in case, but really, its just climbing a small ladder while holding a small bucket of water. I don't get vertigo on manmade structures, so it'll be fine.
I used knotting compound yesterday on the new skirting boards by the acoustic insulation, and I've found I have some undercoat. Can I use undercoat as a base layer for the walls? Anybody know?

I would say yes on the undercoat, but I would also never take house DIY advice from me! Unless backed up by many other people.
Good luck with your window cleaning!0 -
Karma, I've been meaning to for a while but finally had some time to start on your diary :hello:so am waaaaaay back at the beginning.
Edited as I asked a question but having read on another couple of pages it's been answered

Michelle thanks for that, it went fine, in fact, the builder had already cleaned a lot up. The roof of the shed is very dirty from the repointing dust, but it's obscured by the scaffolding, it can't be reached right now, fair enough.
Daisy :hello: Oh my! The beginning of this diary is a long time ago now  please don't feel you have to read all of it! But thats quite an honour, actually, thank you for that - still, feel free to skip as soon as you realise how blow-by-blow I post - it helps me keep a perspective on what's going on.
Yesterday, though, I should have put flexible filler on the little nail heads on the new skirting boards - then I could have done the undercoat quite soon. Will do it shortly. I'm not one for perfect finishes, but even I like some things to be set up correctly :rotfl:
I also need to get my luggage trolley sorted, what to take, including small, rigid plastic boxes to pack little things away in.
Slate chips! Dispersing more of them back to the bottom of the garden.
I'll also dare to switch the phone on again, see if I can get it set up before I travel. And I hear my brother has sent me a text, which he must think I've totally ignored; all my mobile comms are down right now, I just don't have the heart to switch the sims around more than **absolutely** necessary.
If there's any spare time - scanning. You know it makes sense2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Have you read about a number of long-running threads disappearing? The Boards' guides seem to think it is connected to the number of times a Spam box is chosen - old style weight loss was one of them but I don't know details. They are suggesting people start newer ones to avoid it happening. I don't know if you have had any spam posts removed but yours is quite long KC. Something else to consider...Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread
My new diary is here0 -
I've seen the listing, but I haven't read it yet
I haven't had many spam posts on here, maybe half a dozen? But of course if it was deleted, after more than 3 years .... that would feel a bit sad, to be honest.
I *need* an mfw diary at the moment, probably until we sell my mum's house and the money is distributed between the three of us. Around a year, we hope.
You're right. :kisses3:
