God bless Carboot (or whoever you worship!).

Is GOT so ingrained now that we say "Seven Blessings on you" ?!
    Worshipping Carboot :D

You know what :o I've only seen about 3 episodes of GOT. My niece keeps saying she'll loan me her box sets, but I ain't seen'em yet

Not previously - I noticed it in the schedules last night or so? Is it something you'd recommend?

:o I'd quite like him to take tomorrow off as well! That gives him a good long time to heal, and not be round here shedding viruses or germs or whatever :o and if someone that strong has to go home in the middle of the day, he needs a proper amount of time recuperating. I'm no longer a believer in struggling through ...

  • Peaky is quite violent but great acting, period drama, stunning music.

Morning! Yep, builder's not turned up, so he's definitely sparing me his germs, hurray. Though I felt quite rough yesterday, it's just the normal stress of autumn plus builders and scaffolders all over the place.

Today: sigh, the phone. Realised that my password for my TalkTalk account is probably different from the one used to gain internet access. And I have no idea what that one is :(

I might do some weeding at the front today, just to clear it for the builders replacing the fence, and ensure that it looks like something they can respect, rather than waste ground :o

The TV talk reminded me about the documentary yesterday about the Kings Cross fire: I was rootless in London, and my sort-of-partner was living in a squat near Kings Cross, he passed through it all the time. No mobile phones in those days, and no landline for him in a squat, no workplace I could contact. I rang the hotline to find names of the victims, but didn't want to *give* his name, and they offered to send a police officer round to where he lived. But it was a squat! I had to live with the uncertainty till he surfaced ... I knew he probably wasn't dead, but it wasn't a great time. The instant contact we have these days is wonderful in comparison.

No time to do the weeding by the fence - the fence/side gate guy has appeared :j

Passed the time by doing another SB survey, which didn't appear on my points  turned out you have to join the Help section separately from SB, who knew? Done it now, and queried this and one other - not going to let them get away with playing me for a *complete* fool :p

    Right. Cuppa tea. Phone.

    Hooray for building works progressing:j:j:j

KC - this is a slow race to the finish - here I'd thought you would have beaten me to enabling your new phone...

...mine is charged ...and almost fully updated ...am slowly installing apps and making sure they work...

...still need to copy photos and docs & contacts off old phone onto new memory card for new phone...

...only once that is all done do I dare move my SIM card over!

...hopefully old phone will hold out until then... it's dying a slow & painful death!

(...and then there is the saga of putting in the second cheapy SIM card which supposedly has a few types of unlimited streaming & freebies...)

...so maybe by xmas the new all-singing & dancing gadget will be fully enabled!

...gone are the days of the good old day-timer (filofax) & multi coloured pens...
    4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)
(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)
    ...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)
New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)
Psst...I may have started a diary!

:kisses3: Thanks! Said side gate and fence is finished :j and it looks lurvely. Though I'd dearly love to know why all workmen want to store used timbers that are being taken to the tip on top of soil and plants, rather than the hardstanding at the front of the house :rotfl:

:o I loathe the whole process, so I can only do it bit by bit. I found the right password - it's the one thats printed on the router :D but that means it isn't on the Three contract yet :o I'll do the next bit tomorrow, pop in to the shop where I bought it.

You have a lot of work still to do! And I never thought I'd pine for my filofax, and I *did* have a filofax, but yes, I really wish I had that rather than this :p

Snipped a few brambles, but nothing spectacular, and caught up on family necessities.

I shall spend a bit of time decluttering today, for sure :)
