Ooh, well done on your gardening KC! :j That exhibition sounds interesting, don't blame you for conserving energy for it! :j0
-
Thanks madvix
I was really pleased with the garden work - 2 or 3 square yards free of weeds, so I put soil down, used up the rest of a 25 litre bag, and then used a whole 90 litres of bark chippings on the area, so the worms will still be happy. And the bags are cleared from the grass
which can now be cut "properly" (i.e. with my shears).
DW is on right now, then I'll be off to Waitrose, for a few essentials: frozen broccoli and 2 jars of pesto :rotfl:the extra 35p per jar is worth it to conserve energy for tomorrow - off to the British Museum to see the Native American exhibition.
Hope all's well in your worldSave
You sound really upbeat today, KC. Lovely to hear:j
Well done on the gardening, it sounds as if it's coming on really well:T
Can I be nosy and ask what you do with the pesto please? You seem to buy a lot of it and, although I love it, I only ever use it for putting on cheese or ham sandwiches for my own consumption. There must be zillions of other uses for it such as in cooking but it would just have to be for when I'm feeding myself as OH hates it:(.
Enjoy your exhibition tomorrow. Sounds great:T. Oh to live within striking distance of some culture:(0 -

I use a big dessertspoonful when I have my go-to dish once a day, of gluten free pasta/frozen broccoli/feta cheese. I'm sort of addictedI also use tomato and chili sauces, plus mayo, but my fallback is pesto. I've probably altered the proportions of the various types of taste buds by eating so much of it :rotfl: Seriously, sorry your OH hates it, thats a difficult situation. Except if he cooks for himself...
Enjoy your exhibition tomorrow. Sounds great:T. Oh to live within striking distance of some culture:(I really wouldn't like to live in a town thats any smaller than this, I'm afraid. I'll let you know what the exhibition's like

Still, trying to think what I'd answer. Tender plants, earlies and lates, or plants that just need a bit of frost protection. Anything that would need consistency, say, or that would need to be grown a good few hundred miles south of where I wasI can't say actual crops, I'm afraid. Good question, though

I managed to get to Waitrose, spent a tenner because I bought two pots of Essentials honey, for porridge - I'm willing to downgrade to non-organic with Waitrose, because I've seen their "own brand" orchards, and I'm happy with them. Sainsbo organic is £2.80, this was £2.19, saving 61p per pot, which is a fair amount.
And for the train ticket tomorrow, I'm using super off peak, not just offpeak - last train I can get leaves London at 1553, and since I'm out of the house at 9.30, thats plenty.

Hi there, yep, the day out was brilliant, thank you! A much smaller exhibition than the American Dreams one, and it sounded like most of the exhibits were already in store at the BM, which is why it was free.
Being with a member still had *huge* advantages, thoughour security queue was maybe 1% of the size of the standard queue - seriously, don't go there right now if you're not a member, people must have been in the queue outside for at least an hour
plus the whole thing of using the members cafe - and the members toilets! - more huge queue bonuses
We also saw a second exhibition - British Watercolours. I haven't been a watercolour fan, I must say, but I'm a convert, on seeing these.
Didn't do anything yesterday, just a bit of house-tidying here and there, I needed to do as little as possible, to cope with energy levels.
Today is all about getting ready to travel to Merseyside on Monday.
Oh! Announcement time!
