  • Great news about the book's value:T. I hope it sells soon:beer:. It's always such a good feeling isn't it to discover that a book obtained very cheaply or for free is worth a considerable amount?:j

I'm so sorry you felt in a bad mood earlier. I can empathise as by yesterday evening I was positively fuming. My router was playing up or ceasing to work at all. I'm not 'into' much technology but when I'm without my broadband despite hours of faffing about trying to fix it I feel almost murderous :o

I'll believe it when it happens, but there was only one other like it, so it *might* happen :D I tend to be very chatty in terms of describing things, so people can tell I'm a real live person, not a company - I think people tend to pick my copy to buy because of that :)

:kisses3: :o Thank you! I really shouldn't grumble :o but every so often, it just pops out :o rubber duck or no. And oh my, fixing broadband - Goldie has been so calm about it, but like you I end up feeling murderous, absolutely!

Anyway, the garden benefitted from my need for action, though I'm quite tired now. Just a quick waft around the diaries and then Mock The Week, I think

I surprised myself about how calm I was about my internet problems!

Previously, I've lived in dread of the internet being 'broken', and even if it was things like websites loading slowly it would make me cross.

But when the worst happened, and it really start playing up, I was curiously 'zen' about it. I think it's because I've now got a smartphone, so, if needed, I can access the 'net by 4G, so I don't feel cut off an isolated anymore.

I note we have some heavy rain forecast, and the broadband problems were possibly weather related, so it'll be interesting to see if problems start again.

But it's 8 days until V - Day (Virgin Day!), so I'm not too worried!

    Yay, more Zen :)

    And V Day :j:j:j

Today's been a funny old day: I needed to be ready to work if called on, but I wasn't called on, and probably won't be now. So the to-do list in my diary is looking a lot more respectable, and while I've been doing mindless stuff on the web, or even emailing, I've been scanning genealogical stuff - really, in a housefire, this stuff would be lost (my backup is off-site, fortunately). But I've kept *so* much I don't need to, e.g. 300 years of history of a family that share my surname, but they're in America. I just don't need to give that house room. Or even digital room - so its gone. I do find that slightly terrifying, but there we are :D

I know what I'm going to do after I've looked at the diaries - change my energy supplier. My DD went up by 40% recently, and the leftover credit is laughable - they must have put my per watt charge or whatever sky high. Off to Martin's best deals.

Ooh, countdown weeks are getting very exciting now, and you seem to be getting more ruthless with your throwing out :j I can almost feel a sense of excitement every time I pop in here :j :j

Thanks Cheery! You're right, there's a constant rumble of excitement in the background all the time :) and then when I actually think about it, I go all :dance::dance:

Same as now, actually - I really did just do the energy switch, over to Sainsbo, and the quote for the DD was literally *half* what I've been paying for the past few months  i.e. it'll be even lower than I was paying before :rotfl: which I like :rotfl: plus cashback, which is more than a month's DD.

And of course, this winter, I won't be using the convector heater so charges will be less (various reasons I use that and not the central heating - small room, heat must be very quickly controllable, boring stuff like that). More excitement, more win-win.

Off now to listen to a webinar about selling kindle books, I've heard similar before from the same guy, but he's good :)

KC, if memory serves me correctly you're retiring shortly? If so, not strictly MFW but likely still worth noting, that it might be best to do any personal photocopying, scanning, printing, etc etc before you leave work. I stayed late one night and bulk scanned all my important docs for safekeeping, feel better for having done it. And if you won't have access to those facilities soon, well... make hay while the summer's in...

Feeling a bit ranty right now, and mustn't. Rubber duck. I am not a rubber duck. Thats code for "KC, 6.5 weeks to go, get on with it". I think the rubber ducks might be in high demand in the next few weeks. Working at midday, in no way am I ready  gotta go

Have a good day, lovely peeps xxx
