    Did the banking (enough to send some to savings when all the cheques go through, hurray), drew out some cash, bought some weedkiller, and a thank you card for the new rellies-by-marriage up in Scotland. And rewarded myself with Season 7 of Buffy for £2.49 from a chazzer :o

    I have a cutout on my computer, but as much as possible is unplugged right now - there's thunder, but no lightning. Going to have a faff now :)

    Hello! Sounds like your week has been on an upward trajectory.

    I do wish I'd kept a diary, back in the old days. I wonder if I'd recognise myself. The things that I was pre-occupied about then, probably seem like nothing now!

    I saw that storms have been forecast around and about, but we are clear here at present. Hope it stays like that - I feel paranoid and protective about my fragile internet connection!

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    I just googled "chazzer"

    First definition was 'yiddish for pig'
    Second was 'charity shop'

    Let's go with the second!

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)

    Although you can't see it, the lightning causes the thunder.

    My last ADSL router died during a thunderstorm. Not killed through the mains, but through the phoneline.

    Oops! A cousin was once thrown across the room because he was on the phone during a thunderstorm :eek: ... though I did wonder whether it was because of dodgy cables, seeing as he lived in Zimbabwe :o my router isn't protected, actually :eek: and luckily no harm done this time. I'll bear that in mind, though, thank you Z.

    It was caused by what remained of 100 million volts travelling up the metal wire into his lug hole. The better the cables, the more voltage would have made it to the end. Fortunately telephone cables are electrically shite, otherwise there would be far more problems.

    I always like people to benefit from where I've went wrong. While I'm on the subject, never buy sub £10 ADSL routers as replacements. They're really *really* crap... :rotfl:
