Hi Ed - yes, thats right, this is week 13 in the countdown, so I've just gone under the 3 month mark and that's absolutely :j:j:j

3 sessions face to face this week, and 2 on the phone ... thats probably doable.

Beanie - I took some photos of white houses, I'll put them on flickr and let you know - I don't think they're the house you were after, I'm sorry, nothing looked anything like what I saw on google when you described the location, but my mum was in the car and she'd taken a bit ill. My sister and I quite fancy going back there next year, so I'll have another go when we do.

Forgot about the weather! Classic drizzle ... except for the day of the wedding, which was blazing sunshine, and then yes, about 8pm onwards, the mist rolling in from the sea (cue the song) ... wonderful.

Congratulations due on all fronts then, the happy bride and groom, yourself for doing everything you could to make sure you were able to be there to enjoy such a wonderful experience, even the weather for doing you all proud when it mattered:T:T:T.

I'm not surprised that you're tired at the moment KC but you must feel really proud of yourself for seeing it through and making such wonderful memories:A

I hope Mum is feeling better now:)

This might sound like a very silly question, but is there anything we can collectively do to help you retire even a day earlier KC? No flagrant promotion of your books, blogs or referrals for @ncestry.com that we can help out with? Or is the die already cast? :)

Serious question, let us know if there's some way we can help you go out in a blaze of glory as a thank you for all the writing and making us think!

Glad you had a great time - how were the shoes and frock :)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Thank you CBC! The photographer's assistant, before he knew I was closely related to the groom, mentioned how good they looked together, how loving they were - thats a good sign! And my mum is fine, thanks - at 90, with all these journeys, its inevitable she's a bit tired :o

Ed, that makes me tear up, it really does - very much appreciated. Books have not yet been written, just prepared for, but when they are, I'll give a shout out on here :) I can't honestly retire earlier, being in this line of work, clients have to be able to depend on me right to the end, if the work is going to be of use to them in the future.

The frock was great (though somebody had a similar material) ... it even met with maternal approval, as the fabric was of very high quality :)

The shoes were agony :rotfl: I wore them for an hour, for the service and photos, and changed into white leather mules with spangly bits on, very me :rotfl: Shoes are definitely sellable on ebay :D

Last couple of days have been full of wedmin, believe it or not - checking my sister's email account for her (she's still on holibob) and copying photos and whatnot for all and sundry.

The oddest thing is two "videos" that are sound only - I accidentally recorded 20 minutes of the speeches, mostly the best man, while my camera was in my pocket :rotfl:

It's a funny old world. The most trying thing about when I retire, in current circumstances, is going to be teaching my mother to use a web-enabled phone, she's decided she's desperate to get online. She's definitely where I get my "yoof" genes from :D
