That's good that you did your visit and you can move forward, and leave the past in the past. But very difficult circumstances.
Unknown to my friend, her washing machine wasn't plumbed in properly and it was draining under her patio. At least she caught it before the foundations were washed away! :eek:Early retired - 18th December 2014

Its hard to describe how important the friendliness on mse is - it's really kept me going today, thank you all so much.
Update on the to-do list:
- 1.5 hours client work
yes
- bit of cleaning around that
no
- phone a plumber about the sink outlet
no
- I need to use the dishwasher so, erm, I'll hover about outside with a big plastic jug to catch as much of the outflow as I can
yes :j
I thought the hovering was going to be ridiculous, but it was actually very easy, and the puddle that wasn't disappearing has disappeared :j
The problems have appeared, and the plumber and cleaning aren't done because there was an absolutely astonishing rant down the phone from my business partner  first thing in the morning, who was absolutely furious with me _pale_ I had a client attack me like that when I was a trainee, and no one else has ever spoken to me that way _pale_ He's livid at my considered approach to my ex-friend. Utterly livid. We started to talk about it when he rang back - I decided to pick the phone up, and fortunately he was ringing to apologise. There's a lot more talking to be done.
I've recovered enough to water the house plants and put some rubbish in the bin, and thats it. Nowt else.

so glad he has apologised. Hope he resolves whatever caused him to act like that, suspect it was something in his life rather than you but unpleasant to be the brunt of it. xMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -

My energy *has* to be reserved for trying not to fall to the fatigue issues, and to attending the wedding at the end of May. I'll speak to my partner if he wants to sort out *his* issues, but not anything other than that.
Today *is* a light day, fortunately - even the phone work I had booked has been cancelledand my builder phoned me an hour ago and said the roofer would be round this afternoon. I completely forgot to talk to him about the drainpipe
I'm not going to get the side gate replaced right now. Its propped up, even Storm Katie didn't blow it down, its good enough till I have fewer maintenance issues going on (oh, and the fridge door wouldn't close, I have to defrost the fridge, did I mention I'm bad at maintenance - this one is self inflicted, just written down to acknowledge that little fact ).

OMG KC that is awful. I am glad he has apologised, but how distressing that you had to go through that when you were just getting over going to see your ex-friend.
These things are so difficult and people deal with them in different ways. If you were friends once then it was for a reason - the same reason that you had to go and see them. Life is too short.
Hope today goes better for you.
