  • Moss-killer man's been and gone:j. He says this damp weather is ideal for this treatment, even rain will be OK. Let's hope it works. I hate using chemicals of any kind:eek:

I was quite chuffed that he said we'd made sure the garden was in the ideal state for him (we were out first thing raking up all the leaves that fell/blew onto the grass after yesterday's mammoth effort of gathering-up). He said he often goes to houses where he has to move loads of garden furniture, children's toys and other things off the lawn before he can even start.

Our garden isn't a showpiece by any stretch of the imagination;), we like it natural and don't get over-fussed by weeds but we felt we should tidy up the bit he was going to work on. Our nearest neighbour (still some way off) is a bee-keeper and he planted his paddock with wildflower seeds although a lot of them were more like the sort of weeds you don't want:eek:. The result was fantastic when they bloomed but then the seeds blew everywhere and we've never had so many weeds in our garden before:(.

Yep, I get a lot of "volunteers" too, CBC! I have an awful lot of moss too - when it falls on the paving (I think the birds pick it off the roof :rotfl:) I eventually bag it, like with leaves to create leafmould - when it dies and decomposes, it must help create good soil structure, surely? I'm glad the man who can was able to apply all the treatment.

And, erm, I don't do anything when I watch tv - I watch tv because I'm shattered, or need to rest, and I can't rest if I'm doing something else as well. The joys of viral illness! Like yesterday, after the paid work, I cleaned up, but did absolutely nothing else, no writing, nothing, I just sat and vegetated. Actually, I think I vegetated too much :o as I didn't sleep particularly well - getting that balance is important, in the evening too.

Sue, you do a lot! What is it you sew, can you pm me a linkie to your business?

No paid work today, a day off, so I'm going to:
    - finish and post the cat blog
    - two emails to do
    - two cards to write.
    - if I can do it without getting soaked, some time in the garden.
    - if I can't do the garden, more cleaning in the gloryhole by the back door.

Oh I did do something yesterday! I cleaned the bucket in the gloryhole which can now be used for storage when it dries :rotfl:

Daily results aren't bad at all! I haven't really done enough, because I resisted doing the glory hole cleaning for so long, but not bad. And a lot of the tidying and decluttering has the aim of getting rid of the seven foot long, five shelves high bookcase in the living room, and replacing it with my normal width five shelf one currently in the kitchen. Slow but sure. I'm definitely a tortoise in a world of hares :D

Woo hoo, twiddled about with and posted :)

-[STRIKE] two emails to do[/STRIKE] done - but I thought I'd made them as one list item each, botheration :rotfl:

    - two cards to write. no :o

    - if I can do it without getting soaked, some time in the garden. no, very soggy today. Walked around the block instead.

[STRIKE]- if I can't do the garden, more cleaning in the gloryhole by the back door.[/STRIKE] I did, I did, I really did :j Mould off the walls, dirt off the floor, something **unspeakable** mopped up from behind the bucket ... I'm letting it dry. The bucket (which is only plastic) has a hole in it. Truly. Its square, so its useful to stack things in, maybe. I don't know (argh, Kondoing has a lot to answer for).

All right, slight air of desperation ...

I have mislaid both my credit cards, my debit, one of my backup flash drives and the set of keys that has my bank's secure thingy on it. None of it has been with me as I've left the house, and they're not where they're supposed to be.

I'm getting a bit lost for places to look: I've emptied out my handbag (onto the patio!) my desk drawers, carefully examined each shelf of the bookcase.

Any votes on where I should look next?

    Yours, worriedly ....

Yours, worriedly.........................go make a cup of tea (that will discount the fridge and those storage jars).............grab a nice magazine to read whilst slurping (rules out coffee table and mag rack) and if you still haven't found them..................go to the wc..................every good MSE'r knows that that's when the lightbulbs moments always happen.................works for me everytime

Oh, I hate it when things aren't where they are supposed to be.

What I do is try and retrace my steps until the last time I saw them.

Maybe the kitchen drawer where the knives and forks like, that's always a favourite, or if you went into the spare room with them in your hand, and just put them down to do something and didn't pick them up.

I hope you find them, it's difficult to settle when things go astray

Thank you both :) lots of good suggestions there :)

I've finished work for the day, I did want to send off those two cards, but I'll do that this evening and get them into the post tomorrow if needs be - finding all that stuff takes priority!
