Morning (just)!
Savoury crumble, hmmm, I think it needs more texture, on reflection. And I left out the cheese and didn't replace with anything. I'm looking at savoury recipes using melted butter now, as I've thrown out a lot of butter after it went rancid, smelt out the fridgeI've found some, but they all use eggs - I may just go back to my old sweet crumble recipe from the Stork cookbook, and substitute oats/herbs etc for the sugar.
Anyway, did a yougov poll this morning, 50 pointsand, ta-da, I sold a thing on Amazon! A big thing, big for me, anyway - less their fees, its about £23, a set of CDs, so postage will be a lot coming out of that. Still good tho
Decluttered some dirt this morning too:o:o my sister's coming round next Saturday, and I realised quite how bad the floor at the back door had got. Sure enough, it was so bad it was harbouring a few beasties. That's what happens when you're so lurgified that a lick and a promise is all you can do. Still, its starting to be a bit better already :j
Am digesting currentlythen I'll be off to cut a few loooooong buddleia branches so they don't tip the fence over. Another problem resulting from lurgified non-maintenance. I'm catching up tho :j

Everyone sounds busy and cheerful today:j
What a night! Howling gales all night and the cat decided to take himself out round about 11 just as I was planning on going to bed:(. We have a cat flap so I should just have left him to it as I usually do but I decided to wait up for him;). (It's like having a teenager in the family). Closed the heavy door curtain as there's enough room for him to get in behind it but it was billowing into the room like a ghost with every blast of wind. I dozed off in the chair (must have been tired as didn't wake up until 2 when cat decided to come home and jumped on my chest:eek:). Have a stiff neck this morning from the draught:(
I sound a real Moaning Minnie today but I'm quite happy really as £100 from an online instant lottery game reached my bank account yesterday:j0 -
Oh my! I have to say, I never waited up if they were out of the cat flap
but it sounds very sweet that you did, and very sweet that when he came back in, he jumped up to say hello
Mind you, I often used to get "visitors" overnight, as mine were never properly territorialon at least one occasion, the tom who sired the kittens was mooching about in my bedroom, which was two storeys up!
You're right, am properly cheerful and busy :j managed to cut down a lot of really long buddleia branches, so the fence is safer, and the dead twiglets along them make for nice additions to the bark chippings :rotfl: there was also a lot of moss on the patiowhich was chucked straight on the soil to decompose safely
Off out for a walk after all that, so that I'm sure I remember how to stand up properlyHave a good afternoon, CBC
#ETA- and congratulations on the lottery win!

I don't usually stay up waiting for him to come in:rotfl:,he's a free spirit, but there's a huge feral tomcat on the prowl round here and my cat comes off worse when they confront each other:eek:. He's been very anxious about it recently, he jumps at the slightest noise. He feels more confident to explore the garden if OH or I are with him, otherwise he just dashes out (to do the necessary probably;)) and then dives straight back in through the flap.
I was waiting for him last night in case I heard any skirmishes outside that I should break up but with that howling gale and the fact that I nodded off I wouldn't have heard any if there had been any. I should have just gone to bed and leave him to it I suppose.0 -
carboot~~You did make me laugh waiting up for the cat :rotfl:
Good news on lottery win

Oh I see! To another cat lover that makes sense
there's also the issue that if they're too scared to go outside to do their business, they start to do it inside  though I may just be projecting my own experiences with my own cats :eek::eek:
We had bad rain this morning, but the forecast is that this is the best day the whole week  so I've gone out on a limb and put the w/m on, I needed an underwear wash - it has actually started to brighten since I did that, so I'm hopeful :j plus I'm working intermittently all afternoon so hope is a necessity - I can't actually run out in the middle of a session to take the washing in :rotfl:
Thank heavens I made a to-do list on my phone last night - must send the Amazon parcel out today, I don't really have time to get to a post office, so the online purchase thingy from Royal Mail is a godsendAlso got to renew my professional insurance - last time! This time next year, I can buy "remainder insurance" for 3 years, for only £15, which is nice

Amazon parcel sent, 1st class was only £3.30, so I'm a happy bunny. Washing not nearly dry when I had to bring it in, but I'm sure its dry now - I needed to rest after I finished work, so the heating was on for a loooooong time
And I definitely have an invite to a 2nd family wedding next year (this has been the subject of some discussion chez nous) - its in Ireland, and I think its another posh one ... the next generation are certainly going up in the world. This one has its own website, with email updates to sign up for!
Found out yesterday that the marquee for the first one is so big (and so tall) it needs planning permission, even tho its only up for a week :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

It is, isn't it :rotfl::eek::rotfl::eek::rotfl::eek: That's what made me post it, really - I won't do regular announcements, I promise
Had an interesting conversation yesterday too, after my chat with the noisy neighbours last week. Their son popped round and asked when I was going to rent out the house (which I'd mentioned as a possibility after I retire). It would be perfect!!! He knows about the noise, they run a small scale building/scrap firm anyway, from the looks of things, renting out now goes to the top of my list :j especially as my mum seems quite fragile nowadays.
Anyway, I'm sort of up and awake, not hugely compos mentis but there you go. I will be, quite soon2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Sounds v pro using re the house KC :TA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
