Yeah, I feel the same with so little of my today's list done or even likely to be:o

Went shopping to Morrisons very early today (am an early riser and like to get on with things as it's downhill all the way motivation-wise by teatime:rotfl:). Was there when they opened at 7 and could browse in peace but by the time I left it was already getting very busy and crowded so I was relieved that I went early. Job number one crossed off the list:j

Arrived home feeling satisfied and happy as I'd found some lovely bargains only to be met at the door by OH to tell me that the cat had brought a live rabbit in while I was out and it had escaped somewhere in the house:mad:. All the downstairs doors were wide open so it could have hopped into any room downstairs and, what's worse, gone behind or under something. I've spent the past few hours dragging furniture about or going down on my hands and knees with a torch looking under/behind things that don't move like the washing machine. That's kitchen, utility, cloakroom, dining room, hallway, and lounge all thoroughly searched. OH was no use, his foot is still heavily bandaged and I was worried about catching it or dropping something on it so I told him to make himself useful elsewhere. No sign of the bunny and the cat has lost interest and taken himself upstairs for a snooze. I'm hoping it made its escape through the back door when no one was looking.

So, not the day I'd planned and it ain't over yet:(. Still have to put everything back where it was before I started raving the place out. Now everything is pulled out I feel I should clean and dust behind it before putting things back.

I hope everyone's having a more enjoyable day than me:beer:

    Omiword! CBC, you poor thing!

I can't tell you the size of the dustbunnies (sorry!) that would be disturbed if I moved all my furniture at once :o but seriously, thats not good! Is there any chance its hopped out while the back door was open, as you say? Your cat must be really stroppy to bring a rabbit in too! Words fail me on that one - I'll definitely be thinking of you :kisses3:

Yep, plenty of dust and fluff disturbed:o, That's why I feel I ought to do something about it before I hide it from view again. Some of this heavy furniture never gets dragged out normally. You can tell how houseproud I am can't you:rotfl:

The cat catches a rabbit most days and brings it home dead for me but never attempts to eat them. Once the gift is delivered he loses all interest in it. Sometimes he brings live prey home and after a perfunctory chase round the room after it he just leaves it for me to catch and release. Usually there isn't a mark on them, he's very gentle, although they may be mentally traumatised after such an ordeal:(. Normally they can't get further into the house than the kitchen but today all the downstairs doors were fully or partly open and it had free range to anywhere.

Good heavens. My cats were *so* daft at catching things. I did see the older one catch a moth once ... and their eyes were attracted by big spiders, but even there, they never pounced :o

The cat I had when I was a kid was extremely daft, but it managed to bring home a few mice or birds, that he'd proudly leave on the doorstep. But never a rabbit - I think he'd have been frightened of a rabbit. Hopefully CBC's rabbit hopped away as soon as it could

They aren't full-grown rabbits but certainly a lot bigger than a kitten. We're surrounded by fields and there are dozens of them frolicking about. He'd have no problems finding one to pounce on but how he has the strength to carry them all the way home and in through the cat-flap I don't know:eek:. Especially the live ones that he carries as gently as a mother cat carrying her kitten.

We never found it, I spent ages during the evening sitting quietly with the lights off in case it plucked up the courage to come out of its hiding place but it never did. I'm just assuming it escaped to freedom through the back door when our attention was elsewhere during the hours of searching.

Although it was hard work I feel very pleased with myself now as a lot of impromptu spring cleaning got done:rotfl:

It's obviously struck a chord here, CBC - in fact, I was so impressed, I had a chat with an online friend who breeds rabbits to eat, and asked her about cats killing wild ones - she said it's much more common than you'd think, and as rabbits breed any old time of year, even in the wild, there's nearly always some dozy adolescents ripe for the picking

Impromptu spring cleaning is a good thing too :D for all of us **waves at RT** my place is particularly filthy at the mo, with trucking in and out all the time to the garden :D tho I ran out there just now because the washing was nearly dry (!!!) and the promised rain shower arrived ;)

    Erm, it's stopped :)

I'm just staying home and gardening/ stewing fruit today, as I'm off out all tomorrow :j

But there's a very serious question to be asked: dum-di-dum-dum ....
how do I continue the countdown to retirement? By week? This is the end of week 53 ... or by date? Today is 3/363.
