    DECLUTTERING
(I had to hunt upside the thread to find the numbers :o)
58 3 leads to heaven knows what
    59 keyboard!
    60 broken sieve
    61 5 DVDs
    66 (see what I did there :p) 3 books
69 4 items under the sink (they count as 1 :p)
    70 stupid keyfob
71 big grey t shirt that I *had* to buy from mystery shopping at an airport, but it hurts my arthritic collarbone.
    72 notebook
73 an old, old t shirt.
    74 yet more threadbare bedsox.

    Ha! :j

And I've ordered those seeds from Park Promotions, hopefully I'll get planting next weekend, when I'm back from Belgium.

The weather is irresistible - the very last piece of springcleaning is in the washing machine :j and I'm finally off to fetch the sunkettle in.

Result! Its been out there a *long* time (tho some of that time it was in shadow) :o and I poured a little bit into a cup before pouring the rest into my kettle - it was actually at the sort of heat where you think "ooh, its just hot enough to drink without needing to put it back in the microwave" - excellent result :j still only the 12th April.

As my tea is brewing, I'm going to put the sunkettle in a double glazed window that gets full sun (and put a milk bottle full of water by its side). That should give me an interesting comparison :D

Yeah to a 'free' cupppa tea - wonder how many cups you'd have to make to break even - how much electric would you have used for the amount you paid for the kettle?:D

I've still got gadget envy but our cottage is so tiny that if I bought another gadget, I'd have to get rid of one of my lovely kitchen toys!

Thanks greent! Thats over about 9 days :o but I do want to keep going. I've realised I have a *lot* of summer t shirts, that don't cover the rivets on my jeans (I'm allergic to the metal ...). I'll have to review those separately ...

I'm really, really not going to try to find out :rotfl: Its worth using every day, since I'm at home (though I will try to find out more about the top - "there should be 3 holes, don't cover them or it will explode" - whereas I can only see one, and the top does get stuck on a bit as things heat up), and in a powercut it would really help me stretch the little camping gaz stove.

Ooooooo - a food processor - that means homemade houmous & if you are adventurous - wholemeal low-fat pie/quiche crust! - homemade almond meal for flourless baking - oh and don't forget the pesto!:D - why have you not used your lovely toy yet??????:D

I am allergic to the nickel in the rivets too.
Have you tried a thin coating of clear nailpolish on them?

Oh dear :rotfl: I don't really *do* cooking, I do *assembling* - a dried carbohydrate like pasta/rice/tinned potatoes, a splosh of beans I've cooked in the slow cooker (4 portions) or some frozen veg, a handful of nuts and seeds, chopped up feta, tomato puree, pesto. I'm regularly using a banana cake recipe I found because I want something sweet other than a handful of dried fruit - viruses have their costs, y'know! Working on weeding the garden is more important than learning the food processor - time enough for that when I have the harvest of dandelion leaves/chives/lemon balm to process :D

Came on to list another little tiny declutter:
75 stupid tiny freebie pedometer from Tatco

    :p

RT, what's the least-time-intensive hummus recipe you know?

ETA - Al, I did, yes, but its a case of constant wariness against cracks, and constant re-application, I don't have that much spare focus and faff in me! I appreciate the thought tho.

    rtandon:hello:.

I have a food processor too ( a lovely competition prize from years ago) but I barely use it for the 2 of us because it's such a faff to clean:(. Any gadget that takes longer to clean than the time saved by using it in the first place is a no-no as far as I'm concerned:rotfl:. I may be short of money but time is a commodity I have plenty of now I'm retired:j. And cleaning isn't a way I'd choose to spend my time:o.

But your low-fat pie/quiche crust sounds ideal and if it's better in the processor than by traditional methods it might be worth digging it out of the cupboard. Any chance of the recipe, please?

I wonder if the bits of food processors that you need to clean can go in the dishwasher :) if they can, I'm on a winner :j cos yes, it needs consideration, like CBC said. I think my temporary answer might be bulk useage - either making a lot of one thing, or making at least a couple of things.

I'm on the greatwar.co.uk site at the mo, preparing a big pdf of what happened to the Canadians in April 1915 ... I've never read such a blow by blow account of a long battle, its a bit sobering. Stopping now tho - I've also just downloaded the new Have I Got News For You, hosted by Daniel Radcliffe :D
