  • Our deckchair did look pretty sorry for itself when we rescued it CBC, I can see why someone chucked it, but with an extra bit of wood, a few screws, a lick of paint and some new fabric (so, basically, rebuilding it from scratch :rotfl: ) it was fine :D

I was going to reply to your earlier post when you told us how you'd resuscitated your deckchair and say it sounded like Trigger's broom:rotfl:. Definitely have to say it after your update;)

We've had lovely weather here over the break. Haven't managed any sitting down outside, though we have done lots of garden jobs :) Sadly our swing bench broke a couple of days ago :( I loved sitting on there with a cuppa and a book - may have to investigate purchasing another one!

  • Morning Greent, I'm a lover of swing seats as well. I've never owned one but would love one over here.

Your decluttering is putting me to shame :o

It looks like everyone was outside with El :) sounds wonderful. I'm definitely getting to grips with the weeding more this year, and enjoying being out there (even wrapped up!) as much as I can. I think my comfrey has a problem tho - it hasn't come up at all :( I must have a chat to it, to encourage it :)

Right, no paid work today  so here's the plan:
    - open post, check the stuff that was supposed to arrive from my recent updating of accounts.
    - transfer ancient unit trusts into an ISA
    - half an hour (no more! I'll put my alarm on) of weeding, because of the next one:
    - work on the black mould in the porch! Its not a nice thing to have ...
    - back up computer
    - wash the sofa throw.

    Thats doable, I'm good :D

ETA - I forgot! Matched bet research and set up a potential one, to check on the New thread.

Ooh - now I'm thinking of lazing in the sun in Portugal on a swing seat.... heaven :D

Is that using the sealant or is that something else to add to the list :D.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I hope we all have the weather we need (sometime this year if not now) for making full use of all the deckchairs and swing seats that we've been talking about. There's nothing more relaxing than sitting in the garden with a book, a cup of tea and the cat for company:).

KC, that sounds like a manageable day. I hope everything goes to plan with no major interruptions to scupper it for you. I really empathise with you over the dreaded black mould. I spend ages working on ours and begin to feel a sense of satisfaction that I've 'killed' it only for it to come back with a vengeance a few weeks later:eek:. It's not going to beat me though. Have suggested (more than once:() to OH that we call an expert in for advice but I know he won't fork out for any expensive remedial treatment and we just seem to get nowhere at all with solving the problem. Apart from looking very unsightly it's positively harmful to health. I saw a TV documentary recently about people living below the poverty line and they made a big thing about showing the mould in their home and going on about how people in the 21st century shouldn't have to live in those conditions. They ought to come and film here, it's much worse:o. Would be a horror movie!

    **innocent look**

Truthfully, this is more important than the sealant :D As CBC points out, black mould is a health hazard, nyah nyah :rotfl:

I'm doing my usual thing of lots of things at once - the sofa throw is in the washing machine, I've started to put things away but I'm half way through, some of the post has been dealt with, the computer backup is carrying on apace (I'm using the encryption facility on my flash drives for the first time, and its taking forever, so you *have* to do other stuff), and I've discovered that one of my comfrey plants is shooting out of the ground :j:j:j I love comfrey :) The sealant isn't going to make it to today's list :o:D I might go for it tomorrow if I succeed in tidying up the kitchen today.

You're in Spain, I've realised! What do you care :D:rotfl::D:rotfl::D:rotfl: you're just trying to taunt me, aren't you :p

Thank you CBC! The only thing that really might go wrong is my sister ringing about our mum's health, she's not been great this last week, but she's reluctant to acknowledge the reality of her age, which exposes her to risk ...

Me too :coffee: nice mug of coffee, I'm set.

ETA - you know what, before I'd even posted this, something went wrong :rotfl: the encryption on the flash drive has booted me out, and it will let me get back in, but I can't add anything to the drive :rotfl: luckily I find that very funny, and not irritating :D if I can delete the encryption, I will - I never take it out of the house anyway.

    I won't. Thanks!
