We rescued a deckchair from a skip a couple of years ago - had to reinforce the base but then I painted it cream and put new fabric on and it was ace :j

    Enjoy sitting outside kc! :j

Absolutely! Loving the deckchair stories :)

Erm, the sun's gone in down here ... still warm out tho :j

I used to have a huge "armchair", made of big chunky bamboo with a swag of fabric that was the armchair bit. Too big, and it made its way outside, onto the patio, where my cats found out they could sit at a bit of an elevation if they jumped on the armchair. Till the day my overweight moggy Jesse :happylove jumped on and the fabric tore ;) when she was very, very surprised :exclamati poor moggy!

Finding a deckchair in a skip! Blimey that's good! The old ones make a lot on ebay.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
  • Won't be selling mine however valuable it is or however hard up I am:). Mine's in pretty decent condition, just a bit grubby from being submerged in various sheds for years. I'm so glad I rediscovered it although the hoped-for session lazing in the garden in it has had to be put on hold as the sun has disappeared and there's a skittish wind now:mad:

Poor Jesse, KC. I've noticed with my cat that if he does anything that makes him look silly he seems genuinely embarrassed. I know that sounds fanciful, a cat looking embarrassed, but I'm convinced of it. I don't attribute human characteristics to him except for that:rotfl:.

I'm sure you're right, CBC, they know when their equilibrium has been ruffled - cats definitely feel that!

I don't have any deckchairs, I have two decent modern aluminium garden chairs (currently with the seats covered in algae, yuck) but its not warm enough to sit out there now, grrr. I just need to crash right now :)

    Hope your resting well :)

I managed to acquire a couple of those solid wooden chairs that whilst dont stretch out do give a comfortable seat ( with cushions on) in the sun, Oh pulled them out of the garage the other day and we sat out for a wee hour or two... first sunburn of the year acquired:o:(

You got sunburn up there, and I'm huddling inside, all the way down here :rotfl: its not fair! I hope there wasn't too much "burn" on that, seriously El - I've never actually sunbathed as an adult, its not a good idea with my skin.

I've been genealogising :D one of those classic London working class families, where each parent came from opposite ends of the country, and once they were married they had a child every year. Stopping now tho :)

I tend not to sunbathe myself as I do burn very easily, this was a case of sitting out in the sunshine reading my book ... I get sun burned in winter though so ...

Our deckchair did look pretty sorry for itself when we rescued it CBC, I can see why someone chucked it, but with an extra bit of wood, a few screws, a lick of paint and some new fabric (so, basically, rebuilding it from scratch :rotfl: ) it was fine :D

It's lovely that we're gradually starting to get ourselves outside.

We've been doing work in the garden, and it's looking a lot tidier now. The weather today was a little disappointing, but yesterday we did manage a cup of coffee while sitting on the garden bench.

    Spring is good:j
