 Just off the phone from talktalk I can't believe I managed to phone them the same day as I said I would :D

Its never simple, though, is it ... letter says to phone them before 9th April, when my account is transferred over. But because my account hasn't been transferred over they can't finalise any offer. I smell Catch 22 ;)

Anyway, its done, and they're phoning me next Monday at midday to sort it. Any charges in excess of what I expect will be refunded ;) The monthly charge should be about £4 - £5 less a month, which is jolly handy. I'm really shocked I got a result :rotfl:

Been out in the garden for about 45 mins, am shocked once again :D gardening on the same day that I did lots of cleaning :j

My lemon balm is now completely free of the non-bearing strawberry plants that had tried to submerge it, grrr, dressed with topsoil, and watered it. The effect that the ratted strawberry plants have actually had is great - its like the lemon balm tried to divide itself to evade them, so its now spread over a greater area, and I'll have lots more greenery for my pesto :j

:coffee: there's a pot on for anyone that wants one :)

You've inspired me to buy some pickling spice, although no foraged products here (unless L1dl reductions count)? :rotfl:

We live in a golden age of convenience, don't we? Had to order that and a new mobile phone battery for Mrs E, took all of 2 minutes to arrange. If someone had told me how simple this sort of thing would become 20 years ago, I would have laughed out loud!

Thank you SF! I'm not keeping any, I'm afraid - they're the tiny ones, sort of alpine, when they *do* fruit - they're very, very active runners  the weeding would be constant, for very little return - I just don't want that.

You're right! I'd stopped by 5pm, rested for an hour before I cooked my tea (chucked things together, rather than actual cooking :) ). Shutting down the browser now to watch iplayer.

:j:j:j Well, its kind of foraging :rotfl: I bet you've got a food market *somewhere* near you where you can buy kilos of produce :) and MG, who lives in Fife, has all sorts of amazing foraged recipes on her website, I remember dandelion honey in particular :)

So true! I've just got 7 library books out - online! The magazines are free. No more library fines. The supermarket will pack my shopping and deliver it, for only £1, and if I buy enough, its free. Chemists deliver prescriptions. A golden age of convenience indeed - not just for "tempting" luxury fluff, but for what are near necessities.

Ooh, you've just reminded me - I need to renew my library books online :rotfl: And we have a free audio books service now - must investigate! :applause:

That's good, Cheery! I couldn't read any of those books last night, even though I'd "taken them out" cos I couldn't remember how to actually download them :o there's a trick to using Adobe Download Editions, and I can't remember it - I'll get it, tho :D

Well, CBC was right about tiring - I should've taken notice of my own rule, and not done two sets of physical stuff, cos I'm shattered today :p its okay tho, I've got the one big session and thats all. Don't even have to check up on my mum today, as my sister's up there from this evening, for a few days.

Washing machine is on, by the end of this week I'll have caught up not only on ordinary laundry, but on spring-clean laundry too - the throw over the sofa, that sort of thing. And its easier nowadays, because I have a washing line :j:j:j

I might even sit outside this afternoon :j garden furniture is too dirty to use as is, but I might sit on a piece of cardboard thats about to be repurposed for the garden :D I'm pragmatic, me :p

  • I hope you enjoy sitting outside later, KC, whatever you're sitting on:)

I think I might join you (not literally of course:rotfl:) as the sky is blue and cloudless today for the first time in ages. When I was rummaging in the depths of one of the sheds for car boot items I discovered a long-forgotten deckchair that had belonged to my parents. You know the type, the old-style, fold-up, stripey seaside ones:). My parents had several but this was the only one that wasn't worn out and when I cleared out their home I decided to keep it 'for old times sake'. My brother suggested it should be tossed in the skip or chopped up for firewood:eek: but I have very fond memories of those deckchairs since childhood.

Time to get rid of the dust and cobwebs and use it:j
