Honestly, if people work full time and commute, this stuff must be almost impossibly difficult to see to. Those of you that do that, you have my sympathies.
    Tell me about it .

    Thanks Gally :)

I had to slow down a little bit this afternoon - there's a pair of blackbirds have adopted my garden :j:j:j they hunt among the bark chippings, and they've discovered the mahoosive plant saucer which doubles as a bird bath - only the pigeons used it last year :rotfl:

More thinly laid/absorbed bark chippings discovered. And there isn't as much subsoil as I thought - after fetching at least one worm out of 3 trowelfuls, the worst of the "sick looking" stuff has gone, so I'll just scrape it out of the way of the wood of the fence, and leave it like that. Sloping beds (no sides) are good enough for Alys Fowler, they're good enough for me :D

My second rhubarb survived the winter! I've just seen the crown!

I'm making banana cake ... I'm hopeful, but I've been a bit cavalier with the ingredients. Still smells good :j

    Shattered now!

:rotfl: I love crumble! I must find a savoury recipe, I have such a lot of old flour to use up :o and I don't want to sugarify all of it ....

Deeply shattered today, tho I've enjoyed running about on here :D So its just the basics today: my usual big Wednesday piece of work is today instead, so I just need to make sure the public bits of the house are respectable, put the dishwasher on, and probably a little bit of paperwork. Will definitely go for a little walk this afternoon, as its so beautiful today, but I'm doing nothing like all the turbo-charged stuff I did yesterday :p

  • Ooh yes, a savoury crumble sounds wonderful:drool:. I don't have a sweet tooth, never have had, and although I quite like fruit pies I hate the gooey syrupy or chocolatey puds.

Your day sounds just the ticket after all your achievements earlier in the week.

Thanks CBC! I realise I need to go post a Mother's Day card, but I'd be pushing my luck to walk to the town centre, frankly, and I just don't want to do that, I feel pretty tired.

I'm all done now, going to have a rummage about the forum, and about MrMoneyMustache (I'm only up to the beginning of 2013!) and generally tidy up ...

CBC, I've just seen your sig totals - they're really impressive! Congratulations :)

Thanks, Karmacat. As someone whose opinions I really admire, I'm truly appreciative of your congratulations.:T

Must really have a look at what this MrMoneyMustache has to offer. I keep seeing him mentioned by you and several other people whose diaries inspire me but have yet to remember to find him:o. A task for this evening I think.

My debt-free journey is a real slog but it's quite a challenge finding every possible way to make/save every last penny and I do love a challenge:undecided. I'm paying off my debts as quickly as I humanly can but when I arranged my DMP I over-committed myself a bit by underestimating how much essential living would cost:o. I know I could renegotiate my debt payments but I I'm really enjoying seeing the debts going down this quickly and don't want to until absolutely desperate! It does mean, though, that I'm completely lacking in 'surplus' cash once essentials are paid. A few little money-making challenges on MSE have put a bit of fun into what could be a drab existence, plus they pay for a few little 'extras' or life's inevitable little emergencies:j

Crikey CBC, you're making great progress - can't see that debt free date staying as 2019?

  • I fear it will go the full distance to 2019, gallygirl:(. All the extras I'm making are largely towards replacements for appliances etc that keep dying on me (I keep getting the cooker and fridge-freezer resuscitated but they're definitely on borrowed time:eek:) and my car is just a money-pit this year. On the DMP I have no access to credit cards or overdraft so it's cash only, sadly, and absolutely no borrowing possibilities:(. The amount I'm paying towards my debts is the absolute maximum I can afford (and some) so there won't be a sudden upsurge in repayments there I'm afraid. But 2019 isn't too bad, I can almost see it there on the horizon:j
