Thanks CBC! Realistically, I'm very glad I have a Morrisons so close to me
from both ends - glad it wasn't a super expensive one like Nisa, glad it wasn't a Spar (though I went to the Spar in Harare, when I visited rellies, and I met Ian Smith
really).
Cheery! Yep, I'm going for it - unpacked most of the Sainsbo delivery, cup of tea right now, and another voucher with the shop. I'd really like to see the dry ice thing, that sounds greatThe voucher I used today was actually 20% off - £10 off a £50 shop. And this one has the same proportions - £8 off a £40 shop. With a £1 delivery fee, that makes it only sensible to use them, though this next one has to be used next week. Will try to stock up on stuff I'd buy anyway.
This afternoon, I think I want to be out in the garden, pruning2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I may have mentioned it
Managed an hour in the garden, v pleased: ivy cut back (a regular job, under control now), bits of subsoil dug up and bagged, clippings that were laying about also bagged, and best of all, potentially - all the dead, long grass at one side of the garden is so dead because I already cleared that area, underneath the straggly bits is clear soil with bark chippings on :j:j:j the grass has just flopped over :j there's much less work there than I thought there was :j
Going to get rid of the subsoil now (imagine The Great Escape, surreptitiously shaking bits of soil out of their trousers. Not quite that, but close enough :rotfl:).2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Between your pasta with cheese & Cheery's grilled toast on cheese, I mysteriously found myself at work making & eating a grilled cheese sandwich on the last of my frozen rye bread (with an apple on the side) - mmmm - it was tasty!
Your energy levels are amazing KC! Just reading what you've done in the garden makes me want to have a lie down!:p
So sorry your local store did not have proper green veg! I get wound up at our local Mr W when all they have is manky cabbage and questionable broccoli! But then again we shop at a weird hour, just when they are restocking the shelves!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Oh that sounds heavenly! My little halogen can pretend to be a grill, but I haven't done it yet - I could really go for that tho :j
Don't be too impressed by my energy levels - I'm not mentioning the neuralgic pain in my teeth post-shingles, or my backache from bending over, or hugging my shoulder into my body because it feels broken with the arthritisIn other words, I'm not really very energetic
And because of that, I'm seriously pleased at the appearance of that soil underneath the superficial weeds :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Super impressed with your gardening! :j0

Our local little supermarket is a Co-op. Last week when we did the main shop at Sains, I forgot to get fruit, so I popped down to the Co-op, and there was hardly any choice, and no bananas at all. What sort of supermarket doesn't have bananas! I think it must be a small supermarket thing.
How annoying that you need a new washing machine, and rather frustrating with the delivery process. I'm convinced life is more complicated these days
Glad you've been able to take advantage of the lovely weather and get out into the garden. Spring is in the air!Early retired - 18th December 2014

Bananas are the devils own food, as are baked beans and Brussels sprouts. There really is no place for any of them in decent society. Just thought I'd share!! XxWith family, friends and pets (or any combination of them) life will be fine!

Our local Morrisons always has really fresh veg. Unfortunately the queues are so flaming long it's gone off by the time you get served .
Sorry about the demise of the washing machine and sorry you had to get ranty over new one. Could have been worse, could have been 12 days to get a new dishwasher
.
Strangely enough, I had pasta with [STRIKE]manky [/STRIKE]extra mature parmesan last night, even without reading this thread. Maybe we're all getting in synch, like student houses where all the women's monthly cycles end up the same :rotfl:.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

:kisses3:Wonderful comments, thank you all for coming on here, you lovely peeps. I wonder if we could put the bananas and the extra mature parmesan together :rotfl: though hopefuljoy *really* wouldn't like that  :rotfl::rotfl: But it would definitely put us all in synch ...
And as for it being the dishwasher to wait for, not the washing machine ... there aren't enough blue shrieky smilies on the *planet* to cope with thatso one green one will have to do
I went into the Morrisons again to check, feeling a bit guiltyand the selection was fine - so, like CBC said, I think it was a restocking issue. And even when I first went, they still had bananas!
The thing that pleased me most is the garden :j its true. A rhubarb plant has died, but the ransoms are coming up, other bulbs are in flower already, the buds on the raspberry and the blackcurrant are swelling like mad, the quince is about to come into flower.
My two buddleias are very sorry for themselves, they look like they're dying, but a baby has self seeded in pot of compost that was lying about, so I may do a swap later next month.
I've written my to-do list in my diary, last night, so I'll be back later on to start a ta-da list:money:
