Ha! I'm a ninja today :rotfl:though I think I might need a sit down :o Banana cake, an easy one, is currently in the halogen oven, which I still think looks like the spaceship at the end of Close Encounters of the Third Kind :D

    DECLUTTERING
    24 - 27 13 books
    38 dvd
    39 clipboard
    40 waterproof jacket
    41 1 bag office junk
42 cracked mug (I'd been using it as a paperweight :D)
43 many, many cluster flies
44 old pan, nonstick coating worn and unpleasant
    45 worn out bedsox
46 bag of shredded security stuff

I've been emailing and scanning too, so as soon as the banana cake finishes cooking, I'm going to have a chat with Harry in the Chamber of Secrets.

Thanks Goldie! I said hi to Harry :)

Banana cake really wasn't great - I was a bit careless about detail (I often am :o ) and the result, hmm, how long does food poisoning take to show up? But there's only one egg, and it ended up being in the oven for about an hour ... texture was very sloppy, but surely its cooked enough to be safe? I quite like sloppy :D

I'm looking through writing jobs on elance, as my business partner's niece, living along the coast from us, makes a living doing that, so I know it can be done. She started off slowly, and raised her prices slowly, so I expect low wages, but some of them are horrendous - I think the worst was US$1 for 1,000 words plus! Rinse and repeat 20 times ...

I'm also going through Old Style on here looking for banana cake recipes :D

KC I have a banana bread recipe - but - it doesn't use any sugar so might not appeal???

Watty! You star, I'm looking for exactly that, just been reading a thread about it. Its the thing that concerns me most about baking and preservation - so much sugar!

    Yes please :j:j:j

    Morning :hello:

Follow up :) I'm still looking forward to Watty's no-sugar recipe when she can find it, as it is a concern, but I sussed what was wrong with the banana cake - bad recipe! On comparing the others, the one I used had *half* the amount of flour that the rest of them had  no wonder it was sloppy! It firmed up in the fridge, however :D and it tastes good :D

Tried to get an Adobe ID yesterday, its basically your email address that you register with them. Tried to get some ebooks out, but you have to input your library card no and its in my machine's memory, not in my head :p so that'll have to wait till I can find my card :D I must say, my library has the worst set of intro pages I've ever seen, set after set of non-information, its terrible. My council tax has been frozen since I moved here in 2010, so maybe thats one result :(

Um, not using the fogger today - I want to to work in the garden and then have a shower and wash my hair, which means trundling around upstairs where the poisonous neurotoxins would be, and I don't care if they don't affect mammals "very much", they're not going to affect me *at all*.

Carrying on scanning, am finding all sorts of interesting things :j for a course on couple counselling I had to draw a family tree of *my* family in terms of the emotional relationships! Quite thought provoking.

    So, list for today:
    - try to take out some library books.
    - gardening
    - springclean both me and my bathroom :)
    - join elance and write my profile. Not really looking forward to that, but we'll see.
    - download photos I've taken for the book, crop and size as appropriate, get going - there's so much work gone into that, its crazy not to finish it.

No idea where this was originally from - but - its delish - the lack of sugar means it wont keep but I freeze it in slices if I'm not going to eat it all at once.
    350 g ripe bananas
    3 eggs
    1 tsp vanilla essence
225 g butter or sunflower marg
    275 g wholewheat flour
    2 tsps. baking powder
    1 tablespoon ground ginger
    50 g desiccated coconut
    50 g sunflower seeds

Mash bananas in a large mixing bowel until mushy and mix with eggs and vanilla. Melt butter and add to the banana mix. Place flour baking powder and ginger in a bowl. Add coconut and 25 g of the sunflower seeds and mix well. Gently fold in banana mixture. Line a 2lb (900 gm) loaf tin with greaseproof paper. Pour mix in. Sprinkle remaining sunflower seeds over top of mix (original says to toast under grill but have never bothered with that). Bake in centre of oven 350 F 180 C Gas 4 for one hour and 10 mins. Leave to stand for 5 mins before turning out.

Yummy! Especially cut into slices and spread with butter.
