How often do you use the loft KC? Could you put a temporary seal round the hatch - some possibilities depending on how much you want to bodge it would be sellotape, masking tape, duck tape or even flexible sealer?A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

You *do* need ventilation - unless you want a bad damp problem. You *can* put a flyscreen in the holes to keep the air flowing, and the flies out. However, it will not keep rats and other larger wildlife out. You may be best off sealing all the little holes and putting that expanded metal into a few of the larger holes, backed by fly screen.
That hopefully should cover most eventualities. How often do you use the loft KC? The lovely Hopefuljoy really did come round last night :T and took a proper butchers up there, no festering corpses or maggots to be seen. After having put the loft to rights, we put the world to rightsI don't think I've talked so much about politics since I was going on demos
and it was lovely to discover a long lost twin :kisses3:

So, back to the financial stuff (temporarily) ...
- peeps may remember I renewed the lease on my French apartment - it grants a holiday provider permission to market the property. Only 18 of the 33 apartment owners agreed, so this Friday the holiday provider is going to turn down the whole arrangement  leaving me paddle-less up a watercourse. There's a bunch of emails in my inbox, some in French, some in English, so I'll be reviewing them after a really strong :coffee:
- carp state of finances, including the above, and almost equally carp state of health, mean that though I'd love to retire completely at my target date of end August 2016, I won't be able to. I've always thought I'd have to do some writing work, like on elance, and I think for safety's sake I'm now going to use my CPD to retrain as an online counsellor, and maybe supervisor. Its much less intense than what I do, much more private for me (no more clients at home) and much more flexible if I move around, whether thats staying with my mum or living in France for a while at the apartment (while renting out this house). So I've bought an American book on online counselling, by peeps from the American Psychological Association, at less than two thirds of the price of the other sellers  And there's a British online conference next month
ETA - hi Cheery! Yes, it was really lovely to meet her :j and neither of us were axe murderers so that was good too :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Anyone seen HopefulJoy today?
Just asking.

Mind you I met Cheery Daff once and she wasn't an axe murderer either :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Been doing some writing, and I'm off for a bit of a walk round the block - though won't go far, I'm pretty tired after the weekend. Done some admin too, ooh, and used a nectar voucher for £2.50 over the weekend, that was good
I need the walk for a clear head to look at the French emails

Gally, you crept in there, I didn't see you :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:very good
I've only been able to cope with having a quick look at the emails ... there isn't nearly as much there as I thought. Must do better, so I'll copy them to a file and read them there.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hello friends! Hopefuljoy the non axe murderer here!! I'm pleased to confirm that not only is karmacat a lovely lady and fantastic company, she is also free of oozing bodies in her loft. We didn't solve the mystery of the flies but we had a wide-ranging chat and between us sorted out the majority of the world's issues!
Just a shame no politicians were listening to our wise words!! I hope you are all well today and its really great news about the online counselling Karma. I once started a life coach course which was also online and would involve telephone clients. Not sure whether that's up your street or not.
Went to to see a friend about forty minutes north today and have purged the DDs room. All it took was brute force, a new Hoover bag and a large plastic bin liner! So now I'm settling down with the three cats and Pirin the yorkie for an evening of reading and may be the new film Mazerunner. It's about a dystopian society set in the future. Sheer escapism! I think I shall follow with a zombie film! Do love a zombie flick!!
Love to all xxWith family, friends and pets (or any combination of them) life will be fine!
