Thank you El :kisses3: Its just a lot at once, thats all ... I've chased about the diaries, the dishwasher's finished, I'll get on with the cleaning now. If I can do the minimum in 30 minutes or so (its just appalling when I do it, thats all!) what I might do is get the stakes out that I bought from Wilko (not vampire stakes, no!) - stakes for the poles of a washing up line. Its sunny here today, and I could stick the washing out there. Not quite sure where to put the stakes, but right now it hardly matters, I can always pull them up. If I can get them in :o

    Thanks for posting :)

Well, what a difference 1 hour and 15 minutes makes :j:j:j

Flies are swept up (I should be doing that once or twice a day, thats why it looked so horrible), first coat of anti-mould applied to one side of the porch where the main problem is, carpet on the stairs swept, and the thing thats only waited nearly two years: a washing line is up, and there's washing on it (hopefully drying, as its a beautiful day today).

I've had all the makings for ages, just never prioritised it. What Alchemilla's been doing has galvanised me - Cheery too, actually.

The washing line is secured by reef knots - I really hope I tied them well enough :rotfl: we'll see by the end of the day. There's too much slack in the line to be really safe, but I can fix that easily. It really is something to put the washing out in your wellies tho - with this clay soil, its a mudsink out there. Don't care tho

In celebration, I'm off to my local shop to get some cow's cheese - I make do with feta, which I do like, but I lurve cow's cheese :D

Woo hoo, you sound much brighter after all that! Washing on the line is a marvellous thing - I must add 'room for a washing line' to my wish list for new house :j :j (and all my activity has been partly inspired by YOUR big long list of housey things that you've been ticking off, one thing at a time! Made me realise all the things can be broken into small chunks, and all small chunks are possible) :)

Aww, thank you, you three :) Yes, I'm much happier now :j About inspiring each other, isn't it funny the way it tumbles around the forum, all encouraging and supporting one another? Lovely. Just lovely.

Cow's cheese was great :D more mould cleaner has been applied, another 18 cluster flies have died on my floor (ug - must be swept up before this evening), and my smallholder guru has told me what to buy on ebay ... a fogger! Great name, I like it :) The washing has stayed on the line too, though it all looks a bit precarious, quite frankly, I don't care, its out there and its drying. And not creating more mould in the house.

Water's on for a nice hot shower, I'm tidying up everywhere while tidying up the computer ... this is week 80 of my countdown to "retirement", even though that now has to be put into inverted commas for a while. I wanted to be doing matched bets all during February, but the best I'm going to do is to practise next week, and then start in March. Thats okay.

That is indeed ok. :) Is a fogger like a fog machine? Sounds very exciting and atmospheric :D
  • Hi Karmacat, hasn't it been a gloious day with the sun shining. Well done for getting your washing on in the line. I had the same thought but gave up and used the TD :(

I'll be thinking of you on th next sunny day and will make sure I use the line.

    Best wishes Tilly x

The fogger is this thing: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLUSTER-FLY-KILLER-CLUSTER-FLIES-FOGGER-SMOKE-ONE-SHOT-FUMER-SPRAY-TREATMENT-/111596757022?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item19fbaf601e

Its two foggers and a surface thingy. Nothing as atmospheric as dry ice drifting about :j sorry Cheery!

I've brought the washing in before I have my shower - jolly chilly out there! Quite a bit of it is a lot drier - if the poles had already been up, it would've had even more time to dry.

Tilly - you've been so ill, so recently, and you're still in convalescence. Take it easy! One reason I've got so much on my plate now is that I did absolutely nothing for about six weeks, just concentrated on getting food on my plate, really. Its a horrible lurgy. Still, I like the thought of you thinking of me on the next sunny day :)
