    Hello again,

loving the variety of topics here; it's like an information corner shop :D

Very pleased to read that you did finally manage to get back in to your house. I locked myself out once while taking rubbish out to the bin ... my then 2 year old still inside. I've never climbed up a ladder and through a window so quick :rotfl:and now keep a spare key hidden somewhere secret.

Oh for a camper van in Spain, far away from rain and drizzle ...

Excellent! I like Spain - its up there with Greece and Canada :) and the language is Romance, so I find it easy to adapt to.

Lol, if it wasn't for my friend, my eBay sales would be paltry at the moment - the majority of the things that sell are hers. I'm hoping to get a few things together in the new year, after my big wardrobe cull that I'm planning.
Ah! I have a few nice things, but the stuff I'd get rid of is only fit for rags :rotfl:
It's days like today when a move to warmer, dryer climate is a very attractive proposition. Having been on cruises for the last 13 years or so, we haven't got an area overseas that we are very familiar with. We just spend a day in a port, then move on Therefore we haven't got a place in mind that we'd think of as a retirement spot. ( unfortunately)
I don't think I'd settle overseas permanently - I intend on living a very long time :D and I'd rather be in England for the last third of my retirement or so. I used to hear a lot about cheap room rentals for pensioners in coastal resorts, so that there could be at least some money coming in - not sure that still applies.

What languages do you like, Goldie, or what eras in history? I know I'll be in France for a while - my own flat, my sister's cottage, Space University, my niece-in-law is French, but I don't love France the way I love Spain/Greece/Canada.
I think retiring overseas will one of those vicarious things for us, but I'm looking forward one day to reading how everyone gets on.
Long holidays :D I did one to Turkey already, spent two months there. Its tiring to do it out of tourist season, but you see a completely different world, even in tourist towns.
A camper van in Spain sounds interesting, KC - it's got a slightly 1960's vibe going on:)
    :j there is, isn't there :D

I started travelling in the 70s, too late for the hippy boom, but even then the European Med. countries were stuck in a much earlier era. It was a lot of fun. Mustn't go on :o (and on and on) ... ooh, I can't wait :T

Em, actually no KC, Canada is 'up there' but Spain is sort of 'down there' with Greece.

Tsssskkkkkk, old folk today. Didn't they do geography at school in the olden days :D.

Thanks! Scary to have a 2 year old accidentally locked in  I kept a secret key somewhere too ... but I updated the front door, and forgot to update the key :o mea culpa :o

Oh yes! The sky is that blank greyness right now, very offputting, though at least its warmer.

This list is just carrying on and on and on ... And today:

    - sign up the new matched betting firms[STRIKE], and I also have to learn how to use the crazy ones from betfair.[/STRIKE]
not going to do the crazy ones, must put in the work on s k y bet.

    [STRIKE]- client work today.[/STRIKE]
yesterday's was done, obviously, I've got 1 today, which will be more straightforward. Though I also have to make a phone call to a new enquirer.

[STRIKE]- therefore, a bit of cleaning![/STRIKE]
just the mould that needs doing.

[STRIKE]- sort out the pros and cons of varying publishing methods.[/STRIKE]
who am I kidding? As a first time publisher, I'm going to sign up with Amazon, not the others, not first time. Get going!

[STRIKE]- carry on with the blogpost draft about lockout.[/STRIKE]
I don't think there's a huge amount to do on this very first post, the subject itself is huge, but it needs several posts. This one's more or less ready.

    - I'd like to do a bit of work in the garden[STRIKE], but I think that'll probably go by the board.[/STRIKE]
I **will** be working in the garden :D

ETA Hello Beanie! Yes thanks, all's well - mucho discussions on locks and keys, camper vans in Spain, mould and its removal, matched betting and money in :) Hope all's well with you.

:j LOVE this :j Didn't someone once say 'perfect is the enemy of good' or something like it??

And all through my PhD people said 'don't get it right, get it written!'

(of course, that backfired slightly, because I wrote it, but it was wrong and I had to write it again :o :rotfl: )

Enjoy being in the garden! Tis misty and mysterious here and I shan't be leaving the cosy house until this evening!

Thats it :j:j:j thats what we were rabbiting on about with the extra 0.1% you might gain from finding the "best" ISA - far better to find a "very good" ISA and get the money in there! Same/same with the publishing :D Mischief managed, as Harry Potter would say :)

But you had the first draft to work on, thats the thing, isn't it!

Thanks Cheery! Its not as misty or as cold as it has been here, but I must get myself together and do something proper from the list. Client at midday, so I've plenty of time to do something substantial.

Will look into the FIREstarter blog later today too :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
