Thats *extremely* inconvenient, Cheery, about owlness and larkness both!
I like my list too by the wayand somebody's responded to my query on the m.b. questions thread, which is good. I'm writing the blogpost about keys - and of course, once you google a single term, you're deluged with information. I could write another book already, it seems
but I'm terribly wise (like an owl :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) and splitting it up into proper size posts
Its raining, and I really don't want to garden in the rain. I think I may have to have a snack :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hello Gally, I didn't see you before
Napping ... I did have a little nap on Sundaybut in general I'm very wary, as I used to be out for the count for hours ... its easier to do 30 minutes nowadays tho: is that a Nanna nap?
I've abandoned the search for profit from the crazy betfair offers for the mo - they seem to be quite low profit. This is the mse thread that talks about them (for my future ref, I haven't abandoned them altogether): https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/436862
Meantime, I just joined s k y bet, deposited dosh and can't join the club - they don't like me:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: or rather, something's glitching, and I can't make it stop.
I need to ask something so basic, I have to write it here, and hope that a visitor who does m.b. will know: when they say odds "of evens or above" and I'm using decimal, does that mean, 1:1 and then 1.1:1, 1.2:1 etc? If you don't bet for pleasure, you're safe to do m.b.ing as a form of moneymaking. But if you've never betted for pleasure, the language of betting is a complete mystery. Its Catch 22 in its purest form, Joseph Heller would be very proud
I'll wait to do anything more till I log on again. So for now, its the remainder of the cleaning before working at 4.30, and then start to explore publishing.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Not quite sure what a Nana Nap is either but I keep reading that short Power Naps are the way to go. Many of the most successful people in history are reputed to have had them, Winston Churchill for one.0 -

On the betting front. I've only ever placed one bet in my life.
It was the 1981 Grand National, and I bet on Aldaniti and I won!
Fortunately it wasn't the start of an addiction and I quit when I was ahead.
Although my dad did the football pools, he had never been in a betting shop in his life, and he nearly fainted clean away when he found out I'd been in one! ( I was 21 at the time)
I understand odds of 2 to 1, but I need to get to grips with odds expressed as decimals.
I have so much to learn!
Hopefully Mr Ed will be along to help with your question - he's a good lad:DEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Power naps and nanna naps are the same thing, except you're supposed to wake up from a power nap feeling all energised and I wake up from a nanna nap thinking 'that was nice, when can I have another one' :rotfl:.Goldiegirl wrote: »On the betting front. I've only ever placed one bet in my life.

I know how to fill in a betting slip
.
I know how to read a racecard.
I can identify all the top jumps jockeys and name the 5 Classic races.
Still don't know how to pick a winner :rotfl:.
I did bet Aldiniti though :T. Used to read the Daily Mirror on Grand National day, the winner always had a 'story' so I reckoned I'd look for a good one. Didn't get much better than Aldiniti/Champion's so I stopped at A.

Hi KC,
Just to confirm, evens is 1:1, it will show in the bookies as 1.0 decimal odds. Try and stick with decimal odds as much as you can, as it is far easier to work lay bets out, and the odds comaparisions are much quicker.
As you said, Mbing is much easier if you are either not a betting fan, or not a sports fan. Remember, your not actually placing a bet with the hope of it winning, your gaining access to free money from a bookie, in the most efficient way possible. The outcome of the bet doesnt really matter (its always nicer to crash out of the bookies though, as betfair are totally impartial). If you are worried about your first attempt, post what you are looking at on the MB forum, and someone will check it for you, to ensure your doing it right. Just stick to football for now, ideally within Europe (south american games have crazy !!!! happen sometimes, but thats another story) and for a first few tries, stick with win, loss, draw or other simple bets.
Best of luck with it,

Morning all! Thank you Steve, thats great! Can I ask a step further, tho? Whats "above" in those terms? As in, "evens or above"? Would that be decimal odds of 1.5? I've done m.b. before, but it was a while ago, and when I don't do it regularly, I forget this stuff2023: the year I get to buy a car0

And today:
- sign up the new matched betting firms, and I also have to learn how to use the crazy ones from betfair.
- client work today.
- therefore, a bit of cleaning!
- sort out the pros and cons of varying publishing methods.
- carry on with the blogpost draft about lockout.
- I'd like to do a bit of work in the garden, but I think that'll probably go by the board.its really disgusting the way I've let it build up
And I need to watch out for the cracks that are appearing here and there upstairs - I was checking out a few websites late-ish last night about them, and I don't think they're dangerous, but they *are* new, which doesn't seem to be a good thingI suspect they connect to nearby water damage, after which I had some roof tiles replaced earlier this year, but not entirely, so I'll be watching it like a hawk.
Doing well otherwise - just gone 9.30 now, I've checked the websites I check first thing in the morning, washing machine has been on, stuff is unfortunately draped over radiators to dry but a window on each floor is open, dishwasher has been on pre-wash, I'll put it on wash in a minute, therapy room is ready to set up, answered a few emails, now for 2nd breakfast (a la hobbit :rotfl:) then Martin's newsletter and that list up above there
Hope everyone's started their day as well2023: the year I get to buy a car0
