Leaving HL without transfer charges

Ok. What if you want to disinvest and then reinvest?0

Although I thought the iii interface was poor, I should have stuck with them. Left because they introduced the fixed yearly fee. Hargreaves' percentage will kill my Vanguard funds if I add any more.
Is it too late to change? Is there a preferred broker for dealing in Vanguard funds? I bet Hargreaves will charge me a fortune.0 -
Grr. It's over three months since my transfer started and everything has been on ATS for a month. There is one fund languishing on HL for some reason - it shows on ATS and all other funds from the same house have completed their move.
I'm not so bothered about the fund itself but it is holding up the cash.
Response time to secure messages seems to have dropped - over a week since I asked them to update progress and no reply.0 -
My ISA has finally transferred, but two funds are stalled on HL in my wife's ISA and her SIPP shows zero sign of going anywhere.
This whole process is like pulling teeth and these platforms need to get their acts together.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -
I'm 2 months in and have the following:
LLOY shares in my ISA transferred successfully just a couple of weeks in.
Rest of ISA (funds) disappeared from HL and not reappeared at III
Single Vanguard fund in trading account disappeared from HL and not reappeared at III
Vanguard fund in SIPP sitting unchanged at HL. My III SIPP is up and running in the meantime and I've already made a manual contribution and traded. We'll see if the first DD comes out in a couple of days but the III side seems OK so far.
I'm also transferring in some ETFs from Halifax Sharedealing, and there's been no movement at all (and three requests for the same authorisation form, which I filled in and sent back the first time), so they are no better than HL at this point.0 -
Update on my relatives' transfers - both sent to II in same envelope ( recorded delivery) - one has started - apparently the other form has been lost/mislaid in II system - relative waiting for update...0

relative waiting for update...
The form has now been found and will be "passed to transfer department.." Watch this space.....0 -
Update on my transfer - nearly there!
- Transfer from HL to III initiated towards end of Feb
- One IT and One share disappeared from HL after 2-4w and then appeared on III 1-2w later
- No further movement for several weeks so I chase HL and then all of my BlackRock and Vanguard funds disappear from HL. My ETF and cash remain on HL. No new appearances on III
- After waiting several weeks I chase both HL and III. No movement though I do discover that the ETF was misssed off the transfer form by HL. They tell me they will remedy this and send a check for cash
- Within 2w of this (and further chasing) the ETF and cash appear on III site. The etf is in dollars rather than sterling but a simple call to III fixes this
- Now after further 1w all the Vanguard funds have appeared on III so im just waiting on Blackrock now and my transfer is complete. Its been 3 months so far and still not there but I expecting things to complete within the next 2w i hope.
I think chasing is necessary as I gave them lots of leeway initially but really started chasing up once it got past 8-10w and I wonder if thats why there has been more action in the last 2-3w. May just be coincidence.
III did tell me that they are noticing long delays with Blackrock and Vanguard as opposed to other fund managers but that may be because people holding their trackers are most likely to move so they are very busy?
Customer service has been pretty good from HL and III throughout. III quick to correct minor errors and all stocks/funds/shares transferred in correct number of units. HL slower to reply to secure messages than in the past but still timely and completely understandable.
Agree the whole process needs a revamp as its 3 months and I'm still not quite there.
Awaiting reponse from HL to a secure message from me asking them to waive account closure fees as we creep into June, although there is nothing left on their platform I want to wait for complete transfer.

Finally after a mere 18 weeks 2 days (first documented in post #73 of this thread) the transfer of my SIPP from HL to ATS is complete
:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
All the funds have arrived at ATS today, my pension payments can now resume after a gap of two months and a P45 from HL plonked on my doormat this morning. I'm celebrating tonight!0 -
The whole thing is an utter shambles. Started the process to transfer from HL to II in early February: SIPP, ISA and dealing account. None of them are complete nearly 4 months later and I don't know which of them is responsible, each blames the other. One fund has completely disappeared from HL and II says they have no knowledge of it and it wasn't on the list from HL. One good thing, I rang HL last week to ensure that I would not be charged the £25 account closure fee if it had not all completed by June, because I think after 4 months I could reasonably have expected everything to be done and dusted, and they assured me that no account closure fees will be charged on transfers instigated before this date. Recommend everyone checks their accounts carefully though because HL incorrectly debited me with a £75 SIPP transfer fee, luckily I noticed and queried it and they reversed it. I had just one fund that was to be transferred from Fidelity to II, again I instigated this at the beginning of February - Fidelity and Fundsnetwork both wrote to me on 7th April to tell me the transfer was complete but II claim they haven't received it - I depend on the income payments from this fund to live on and this month it hasn't been paid into my account because my holding is in the ether somewhere, God knows when/if it will be credited to me, I am losing the will to live with it, it has turned into such a nightmare. It also means I am unable to administer my accounts properly, carry out BEd & ISA etc. Have phoned and messaged them numerous times but just don't seem to be getting anywhere and when they promise to ring back they never do.0
