Leaving HL without transfer charges

I am transferring from HL to iWeb. I filled in the iWeb forms and sent them off. Weeks later I get a letter from iWeb saying they are getting no response from HL, and could I help chase them!
Meanwhile, my funds have dissappeared from HL: HL did not contact me AT ALL, not even to confirm I wanted to leave, offer me something better or even to say sorry to see you go... And this is for a £250K plus account.....0 -
All my funds have transferred to Besinvest from H&L (one went missing for almost 2 weeks).I've asked H&L to transfer my cash, had no reply after three days from, seems a little odd for them.Perhaps I'm at the stage where I'm no longer a valued customer and they'll delay the cash transfer to make interest of it.0

I still have a secure message with HL that has been unanswered for over a week now! - So 3 days isn't bad so far..0 -
Just to keep you informed about my S&S ISA transfers from H-L to III; they are all completed as at today.
- Started early February
- Mine completed couple of weeks ago
- My wife's completed today
Not all straightforward; did lots of chasing; no idea who was at fault; but at least it does eventually happen.
I will be telling the financial authorities in an effort to get them to legislate on the speed of this process which we all agree is a bl00dy disgrace.
Hang on guys and gals, it will happen but meanwhile, give them hell.0 -
i do wonder whether giving them hell makes it any quicker ...
my transfer of an ISA from HL to iweb (containing 1 fund) took c. 3 months (completed the other week), with no chasing by me.
an unwrapped account (containing 1 share, and a small amount of cash) was quicker - nearer 2 months.0 -

That's always worked best for me, no matter who the account is held with I would always simply sell and transfer the cash. Of course the market could go up whilst you are out of it but then again it can also go down, it's a chance either way but cash transfers are so much easier to have sorted quickly.0 -
i've taken the view that, since i'm fully invested during the transfer, it doesn't really matter when it completes.0
