He's already proven time and time again by posting the same incorrect advice that he is a muppet who doesn't have a clue what he is talking about.

I wonder what his bank told him when he complained to them about the money that he lost due to failing to read the website before he gave up his card details.

    @gb12345
Who is failing to read here ?
Read the post again, it says "steps to take" - not "how to get a refund".
And calling someone a "muppet" does not make it sound funny either.:rotfl:

Your implying that its "steps to take to get a refund".

Not that difficult to understand really.

"Really"? If so - why do you bother to read into the post by a 'muppet' that much 'deeper'.. There is no t&c's attached in my post:rotfl:

Steps to take to do what exactly?
Your implying that its a refund. See how reading/understanding things is better when its clearly written?
So these steps people are to take, what for, what happens when they take them.
    63 mortgage payments to go.

    Zero wins 2016 😥

What is the point of starting a thread titled "Steps to take if you have been ripped-off by a copy-cat government website" if it's not going to get you a refund?

You may think it's smart, but anyone googling the above or searching this website will be looking for a refund - not looking to prove you right (which as a number of posters have pointed out on this and other threads - you most certainly are not).

As I pointed out on another thread (driving licence renewal), people are not bothered about 'championing' this cause to get these websites closed down.

They are interested in getting their money back and then moving on.

If they follow your advice and dispute the transaction with their bank, they are unlikely to get a refund.
Meer53 has already pointed this out to you.

Very, very poor advice from you.

    So it has changed.

    for gods sake.

    look at what ASA said,

has the change fixed that problem. NO.

so nothings changed, the issues raised by ASA still stand.

I've said all this in post 27 which you have failed to read or understand.

So why would you open a dispute with your bank if it wasn't to get a refund? What exactly are people going to achieve if they follow your "steps"? The answer is nothing - because your advice is a load of crap.

I'll ask again (but I know I won't get an answer, because you always avaoid giving straight answers - you're not a politician are you?) - did your bank give you a refund when you took your "step" and raised a dispute with them for the money that you lost due to your inability to read?

Calling you what I really think you are would probably get me banned, so I'll stick with muppet.

If you really believe - despite comments by peachyprice and shaun from Africa - the change hasn't fixed the problem, report them to ASA.

If all these people posting on threads about these companies actually did something constructive to try to change things, instead of just posting endless inaccuracies, maybe something would get done.

Step 1) Ask for a refund
Step 2) Open dispute with bank for a refund

Your guide is a "Steps to take to get a refund"

The problem being as pointed out by others, is that its incorrect. Your getting peoples hopes up.

To all of you "bleeding in pain" reading the title of this thread,

Firstly, please, I would advise you to take your emotions out from this thread and stop calling names.

"Steps to take" simply means excersing the rights of a consumer who strongly believe he has been ripped-off by T&C's of these websites.

It simply does not mean or guarantee you a refund and no where I have mentioned this in my post. Hope that is clear.
    Peace. Now back to discussion
