I wasn't talking about Google's actions. I was addressing your actions. Criticising users of this forum is having NO EFFECT on the websites whatsover. Do YOU agree hpuse?

Do not worry about my actions, after all who am I? I am a poster that has been branded as more misleading that for writing an OP that attempts to recover lost money.

I don't criticize, I strongly argue against point of views made by posters without no personal attack or name calling. Being here for the last 3 months on a regular basis, I don't expect the same back.

    Really?

This is NOT a definitive guide to secure a refund:

    But the OP suggests otherwise!

And you've also said this thread IS NOT about how to get a refund..

Read the post again, it says "steps to take" - not "how to get a refund".

And while you continue to argue on here and claim that Google is going to take these websites down or significantly impact on their operation the simple fact is they continue to operate, they continue to attract customers and continue to take the money off the innocent and unwary. Because they can - and they can because they are not illegal.

It is a known fact that copycats are losing their advertisements slots on google search results page.

Now points for you to consider based on OP.

    - They lost google advert slots because the government thinks they are misleading.

If government thinks it is misleading, and they instruct google to take action against them - why cannot the consumer think they are misleading and persuade the bank to refund money??

As you say, copycats may still be legal and operating, but consumers do not see them, fortunately.

Are you sure the Government have instructed Google in that way?

Or perhaps Google agreed that the ads were misleading and made the commercial decision to take action?
I personally think that is far more likely, simply because without legal justification the Government cannot instruct a commercial enterprise to take action that will reduce its income.

I think that has been answered before, but I'll try again.

If a bank wishes to recover a customer's money from a trader, the bank needs to be sure that it has a good reason to do so.

You may well think that misleading the consumer is a perfectly good reason, but if the trader is acting within the law, then the bank will be open to a legal challenge if it were to recover money when that money was passed to the trader and a service provided in return.

Hpuse, I do hope that makes things clearer for you, but if that explanation raises further questions, then feel free to ask them.

    Wealdroam,

I hope the below makes clearer and sense for you too, In your next post I know you are probably going to say action does mean instructions.... Ok, I know.
"The Government, led by the Cabinet Office, is taking action to tackle rogue websites and is working with organisations such as the Advertising Standards Authority, the National Trading Standards Board, Which? and search engines, including Google, to raise awareness of this issue and to ensure enforcement action is taken where appropriate."

No commercial oranisation is going to ban legal service providers from advertising on their medium. It makes them money.

Nor is the government able to close down these legal sites. Nor can Trading Standards close down these legal sites either!

Please quote your source, so others could cooberate it. As you continue to not give people the source of your duff gen, then we shall continue to state that your information regarding these service providers is inaccurate.

By the way, have you got your money back yet?
