Once this chapter of your life is over things will be so so much easier. Especially as the thrift will be ingrained and you will be able to make the additional money go so much further!
Thanks Struggling Youth. This is very true, it just seems so far away sometimes. Hoping to be debt free in 14 months so it's not that long in the grand scheme of thingsHope you've made the most of your day off today, good news on picking up the extra shifts. Not long to go now until you're 50% paid and half way there!
I will definitely have a wee celebration when I hit 50%, not long nowSpent most of the day cleaning and doing flat stuff but did pop out to see a friend in the afternoon which was nice.

Hithanks for taking the time to read my diary. Definitely don't always feel cheerful and motivated, sometimes the exact opposite :rotfl: but try my best.
I went to the supermarket earlier and spent £24.77 so well stocked up for the next week or so. Should only need bread, milk etc. I've been using the Match and More card whenever I shop in Morr*sons and today got a £5 voucher off my next shop.
I made a Mother's Day card and sent it off today. My sister has organised some flowers for her so I transferred £10 to her to cover my share. However, I wasn't really paying attention and just automatically made a payment to cc1 by mistake so at least that's an extra £10 off cc1. It does leave me slightly short though, however, OH has been doing more shifts in the last couple of weeks so should hopefully be able to give me some money on Friday.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

A NSD today
2nd job phoned to see if I wanted an extra 4 hours tomorrow so now have a very long day to look forward to but the extra pennies will be useful.

Yesterday was a NSD
Today and tomorrow should probably be NSDs as well. I'm working later on today and then all day tomorrow so not much opportunities to spend.
OH gave me £30 yesterday so I now have £50 to do me until next Friday. The only spendy things coming up during the week are lunch with a friend on Monday and tea with friends on Thursday, however, will try to keep costs to a minimum.
OH has just left, he is away down to a friends 40th birthday party this weekend. Unfortunately I don't really get to enjoy having the flat to myself as I'll be at work. OH seems to be getting regular part-time work at the moment so was saying that he will start giving me money every week to help with the bills. Which would be fab
I need to get a new pair of trainers for work as currently I am wearing either a pair that has a small hole in the bottom or my gym trainers so will need to work that into the budget somewhere. I also need to save some money for wedding expenses and put more money into my emergency fund - I haven't added anything to it this month. I should get a fairly decent amount on Friday but it feels like it doesn't stretch very far at the momentMortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Yesterday and today have both been NSDs, however, will definitely need to get milk and bread tomorrow. Lunch with my friend tomorrow has been cancelled as her shift at work got changed so we are going out for tea on Tuesday instead.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Not really been feeling up to posting the last few days, just feeling a bit fed up of everything at the moment. However, I know that posting here keeps me focused so thought I better.
I have somehow managed to spend £12.37 on food in the last few days, very little of it actually needed (that's why I should post on here everyday) and I spent £16 on tea last night with my friend. Today has been a NSD.

We all slump from time to time. I'd say the £16 was worthwhile if it gave you the chance to spend time with someone you enjoy being with.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Thanks INOD and monz. The £16 was definitely well spent as I got a good catchup with a friend who I hadn't seen for a while. At the moment, I'm generally getting on ok with the money/debt repayments aspects of life, there's just a whole heap of other stuff going on and I just feel like my self esteem is really low at the moment. I'm usually a fairly happy confident person but really not feeling it at the moment.
Anyway onto more positive things - I went out for tea again tonight with some friends (£13 spent) and I have only one more shift at work until I head off home to see my family for 5 days
I will get paid £159.14 tomorrow so the budget...
- £12 weekly savings
- £18.99 phone bill
- £16.99 gym
- £4.97 car club
- £5 emergency fund
- £11.17 cc1
- £20 trainers
- £70 for days awayMortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

I am a long time lurker here and one of the first things I look for when I visit the forums is your posts to see how you are doing.
So sorry to see you are feeling low. From an 'outside looking in' point of view, I see a person who has done tremendously well and has so much to be proud of.
Your journey to being debt free may not be as dramatic as some, but its the most inspiring I have read.
Whatever is making you feel low must be coming from outside of you, something that affects you rather than it being something you have done.
I have read your entire diary from day one and am so full of admiration for you.
It may be baby steps at a time, but look how those baby steps have added up ! In just over a year you have reduced a large debt by 40% which is an amazing achievement. Added to that, you have done it with a smile and a great attitude.
This is my first time posting in here, it takes a lot for me to sign up and make the first move into anywhere, but I felt so sad that you are feeling low.
Hold your head up girly! You have so much to be proud about! I guess I am old enough to be your Mum and if you were mine, I would be as proud of you as I could be of my own children.
Hoping, really and truly, that tomorrow will be a better day for you
