I am a long time lurker here and one of the first things I look for when I visit the forums is your posts to see how you are doing.
So sorry to see you are feeling low. From an 'outside looking in' point of view, I see a person who has done tremendously well and has so much to be proud of.
Your journey to being debt free may not be as dramatic as some, but its the most inspiring I have read.
Whatever is making you feel low must be coming from outside of you, something that affects you rather than it being something you have done.
I have read your entire diary from day one and am so full of admiration for you.
It may be baby steps at a time, but look how those baby steps have added up ! In just over a year you have reduced a large debt by 40% which is an amazing achievement. Added to that, you have done it with a smile and a great attitude.
This is my first time posting in here, it takes a lot for me to sign up and make the first move into anywhere, but I felt so sad that you are feeling low.
Hold your head up girly! You have so much to be proud about! I guess I am old enough to be your Mum and if you were mine, I would be as proud of you as I could be of my own children.
Hoping, really and truly, that tomorrow will be a better day for you

Hi Boodedoo, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely post (it made me cry). You're right that it is external factors affecting my mood, however, these aren't particularly new or different - the thing that seems to have changed is the way I cope with things and because I don't feel great, I keep thinking that it is something I've done (hope that makes sense).
I'm currently heading down to spend time with my family so my plan for the next 5 days is to try and forget about anything else going on, concentrate on relaxing and spending time with my family and then come back feeling more like my usual self.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86
Mortgage overpayment savings - £46.47/£50
Mortgage overpayments so far - £625.980 -
Hope you're ok missT. Hopefully spending time with your family will do you the world of good, and so will a few days off work to just relax. Then you can come back feeling rested. Have a lovely time with your family.0

Hi monz, yesterday was ok, a particularly emotionally draining day at work but brightened up by a lovely colleague who gave me a wee gift 'just because'. Very glad to be off for the next 5 days though.
So got paid yesterday and made all my payments. I bought two pairs of trainers and spent £19.98, I know they probably won't last that long but they will do for now. I also spent £8.65 on some washing tabs and toiletries and £5 on a wee gift for my parents. I also bought a gift that I thought would be nice as part of my sisters birthday (its not for 7 months but trying to buy gifts for people as I see them) - £3 spent.
OH gave me £20 yesterday so am using that for the rest of traveling expenses today. I plan to take out £40 once I get to Glasgow and try not to spend anymore than that, then I could put £30 into the wedding fund. I had a look at flights for my friends wedding and they were about £70 return so think I will book them soon using the weekly savings money then save up the money for the accommodation.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Thanks AleMrsT. Where my parents live is very rural and I usually find a few days of the peace and quiet, going for long walks and eating my mums cooking just totally makes a diffence.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Having a lovely time so far, yesterday I went for a 5k run and went to see an old school friend. It was a NSD and I imagine today will be as well as I don't have anything planned. The car club and phone bill direct debits went out today.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Thanks monz and OnlyICanDoThis. I had a lovely time, was just what I was needing. Now heading back up to real life. Definitely feel as though I'm more my usual self.
