Re my Post #27. Can you imagine the following scenario:

A Small Claims Court, a fraudulent Contactless Transaction was carried out on your card.

The card issuer wants £50 from you for you.

I would suggest that as you've already informed your card issuer that YOU wouldn't be carrying out any contactless transactions, then any judge would laugh it out of court.

    Just a thought.

i don't understand what you are saying James, sorry:think:

you are likely to struggle. some provideres only issue contactless cards nowadays.

    *providers

And it seems only Barclaycard only issues contactless

Just opened a Lloyds account and got a non-contactless card.

I have 6 Debit & 3 credit cards but only 1 is contactless!

Was that a Lloyds current account or credit card?

Lloyds bank generally only issue contactless debit cards in certain areas but they are starting a 100% roll out of contactless credit cards, (Although some like the Avios card, its still opt in only).

    Ah that would explain it.
  • Ah that would explain it.

How would it? I saw a thread where someone (incorrectly) said all Lloyds would be contactless!

Well they seem to be randomly selecting people (Although all customers in places like London who are eligible are getting them) although you can opt in. The other possibility is that you got their online only card and are not eligible for the offline one (hence why you didn't get a contactless card).
  • I paid contactless in a subway branch on Thursday so I assume it's just that particular store
