in Credit cards
I just went to subway and I was told that I couldn't pay by contactless as Subway had turned it off due to fraud. When I questioned him he said that it was because many stolen cards had been used in Subway to make fraudulent purchases!
Tbh I'm not surprised at all at by contactless payments leading to an increase in fraudulent purchases-any fool could have told you that!
Is it just that branch's purchase or is it a nationwide policy of no contactless payments at Subway?

Stealing heart attack-inducing buns full of ingredients unfit for human consumption ? It's a veritable crimewave !
I've had my own contactless capers, including paying in M&S with a card I didn't even take out of my wallet, it was just close enough to the machine to register payment. It's hardly surprising the system is bu??ered."Can't you have your ***** cut off ?" "It's not as simple as that, Nigel"

Seems a waste of time going to all the hassle of cloning a credit card, just to spend it on a poxy sandwich, rather than something worthwhile.
I suppose even crooks have to eat though.0 -

He said stolen cards but you have to remember the £20 limit on Contactless means no payments of significant value can be made in a shop without the pin....0 -

I remember hearing about that in Spring!
I only have a contacless card because Cap 1 gave me one in December ( I'm tempted to ask for a non-contactless card!)0 -

http://www.contactless.info/FAQAnswer.asp?FAQ=127&category=139:As a retailer will I be liable if someone fraudulently uses a Contactless card?
By accepting Contactless payments you will be protected from most chargebacks and won’t be liable for payments in the event of a lost or stolen card being used for a Contactless transaction.0 -
That's the one that paid by itself ! I only have the Cap 1 contactless, I'd bunged my 123 card up the machine, 2 seconds later it reads "approved, remove card" and I'm thinking is it freebie day at Marksies lol I didn't even put my pin in. A contactless card is a flipping liability, I'm getting a lead-lined wallet"Can't you have your ***** cut off ?" "It's not as simple as that, Nigel"

It says 'MOST' however the bad PR that could be created if many cards were fraudulently used at Subway could be damaging...
Anyway I was just saying what I was told today by a Subway worker!0 -
Sounds like their machine is broke or they don't know how to work it (remember many subways are franchises). I used contactless in a subway yesterday.0

You could give them a call. Tell them you've no intention of carrying out a contactless transaction and if they see any, consider them fraudulent.0
