To be perfectly honest there is no need for criminals to skim card data like this when they can skim far more cards and get PINs with cash machine skimmers.0 -
Just want to add that I've never liked Subway. Always thought that it was an expensive little dump.
Know it's got nothing to do with the thread, but love McDonalds sausage and egg McMuffin. Love Burger Kings bacon double cheeseburgers and KFC spicy zinger Chicken burgers.
P.S. Don't visit them very often and tend not to use contactless card and usually pay for those little treats in cash.0 -

Not such a comfort for me as I tend to keep my Oyster separate for precisely that reason. ATM skimming may be more profitable but it also entails more risk. As far as I can see, opportunistic skimming on public transport would be virtually undetectable at the time of offense.

This was rather concerning IMO!0 -

Yes it never worked when I had it, got it changed and it's working.
I like contactless payments, I was out the other week and it saved me ending up with a pocket full of change on a night out without taking ages at the bar to pay each time.
I know the security risk as does everyone else, so I feel if something happens then it's not going to be a massive deal to get the money back.0 -

That maybe so but I've never heard of a bank ever enforcing this.0 -
Re my Post #27. Can you imagine the following scenario:
A Small Claims Court, a fraudulent Contactless Transaction was carried out on your card.
The card issuer wants £50 from you for you.
I would suggest that as you've already informed your card issuer that YOU wouldn't be carrying out any contactless transactions, then any judge would laugh it out of court.
Just a thought.0 -

harsh assessment of Subway's food offer, i suggest.
Contactless must be causing problems. anyone can grab anyone else's card and buy low value items very easily. the risk of being caught can be the only thing stopping some people from taking advantage.0 -

I only have a contacless card because Cap 1 gave me one in December ( I'm tempted to ask for a non-contactless card!)
you are likely to struggle. some provideres only issue contactless cards nowadays.0
