Everlasting boilers a shade greener review

I saw the ad, like many on facebook, for an "a" rated efficiency boiler, free installation and free Siemans wireless control thermostat. Free TRVs, and free 24/7 callouts.

After i signed the contract, and wanting to have it installed asap i jad to sign to waive my rights to the 14 day cool off period. When it came to install i was told i needed a 6m section of 28mm pipe added to the gas run. And was told i needed to pay £70 for pipe, and £360 for installation.

Stupidly i wrote them a check, as otherwise they were going to take all their equipment back, and leave me in a cold house.

I have been through there terms which state "free installation if your house is suitable" not if your heating system is suitable. Now i want to claim my £360 installation costs back.

Here is the link. Everlastingboilers.co.Uk/plain-land

I was also promised a siemans controller thermostat but instead was given a cheaper, non branded one which does not get a signal anywhere downstairs. Where as my old siemans one did.

Under regulations they had to fir TRVs these were cheap and one trv has broken, and i was told as it was free they weren't obliged to replace it. So i have no heat in my lounge because of it.

And as they wont replace the thetmostat or the trv and t section of pipe to the rad they are also not honouring their 24/7 callout.

Where do i stand?

What make of boiler? How much did they charge for it?

TRVs can be had very cheap, and they are (usually) easy to fit - you just need to drain the central heating (there'll be an outside valve for doing this), remove the faulty one, fit the replacement (screw fittings) then refill the CH. (Remember to bleed the air out of the radiators).

  • The boiler costs 995 rrp but you pay a whopping £2500 for a veissman p29. I should not have to buy a trv and drain my system and refit new one ad this is what i am paying for in the 40 quid a month

Thats is very bad advise there is a lot more to draining a system than that.

Unscrew the head of the TVR valve from the valve itself - the radiator will now come on, as it is a living room radiator with the thermostat in the same room the head need not be replaced, though they can be brought from screwfix or the like for a cheap price

FWIW - I have recently paid £2685 for a Viessman P29 plus Danfoss wifi controller plus magnetic filter plus installation. I am awaiting my Green Deal cashback (£700) so the effective total cost will be £1985.

You're assuming the valve body itself isn't stuck. ;)

And no, there ISN'T a lot more to draining the system than that - at least not MY system. (Yes, I omitted to mention opening a bleed nipple on a non-TRV radiator to assist draining). I have done this recently, and this is the method THE BOILER INSTALLATION COMPANY used on my system.
  • Right guys not really what i asked for! Its more to the misleading advertising and not how to install a trv

^^ This. You shouldn't really have had a TRV fitted in the same room as the thermostat anyway. Unscrew the head and the valve will now be fully open, assuming the radiator valve itself isn't stuck.
