It seems that a group of us stayed up and ordered at 5am wednesday morning. Those who opted for store delivery had all items despatched. Those who opted for home delivery had items cancelled. Very unfair, especially after we pay for delivery on top. What is annoying is that items of mine which they cancelled, have since been available online and people have rec'd those items that they cancelled of mine. The boots sale this year has been well and truely a whole farce for me.
It does seem that way. My only saving grace is that the cancelled items took my order under £100 but they still honoured the £10 off code I used.0 -
I went into the Castlemall and Chapelfield in Norwich as I had to return a few impulsive buys on Saturday and both had some stuff left including slippers, slippers, slippers and more slippers!!0

Haven't received the usual text and email saying it was ready for collection. Was about to make the journey yesterday but decided to ring the store. A lovely lady cbecked all the order they'd received in the morning but couldn't find mine and said she didn't have a clue when it would arrive. Never happened to me before, but I guess there's always a first!
Picked up my small order today and nothing was missing. Good luck to everyone.xxLove saving, but not sure I'm doing it right!0 -
For anyone in Nottingham, the Victoria Centre has some clearance toys upstairs. There's not masses but there is some Deadly 60, Peppa Pig and Mike the Knight stuff amongst other bits.
I got a Peppa Pig watch with a removable Peppa. It was marked up with a sale sticker for £3 but went through at £1.80. There were loads of them.
Downstairs there were still loads of the Jamie Oliver olive sets with good dates and the Gino spaghetti jars.
Riverside has loads of the Animal fingerless gloves and nail varnish sets. I also managed to get a Mark Hill Little Hottie hairdryer there but it was the last one.0 -
I have a feeling that if boots have any sense they will look at what did / didn't work this year and change things next year. Whilst many view it as 'it's 70% off, if I get what I ordered it's a bonus, if not, hey ho' there are obviously a lot of disappointed customers which isn't good for boots. For what it's worth I can see potentially;
no big 70 / 75% sale
in store sales only - thus ensuring more stock for stores, less warehouse management for the online flurry (no doubt extra staff had to be bought in to manage all the orders, plus admin queries about orders / refunds / broken items etc) Although this will not be popular with those who cannot get to stores.
Staggered approach to the sale where staff don't put everything out at once - however means staff needed to restock in the day, and boots main objective is to shift everything ASAP
Limit per person spend - not easy to actually implement when staff faced with angry customer looking to make a car boot profit (bit about car booter meant in jest....partly)
No instore sale, online only - website still crashing , orders still being cancelled, packaging still inadequate.
Any more ideas on what kind of sale we'll be discussing next year?Illegitimi non carborundum.0 -
Finally had delivery of my online order which was places around 5.25am on Wed. I was lucky as all 19 items were delivered, but I don't think I ordered any of the ultra popular stuff so was fortunate.
Will be returning the maze money boxes (ordered 2) as they are a lot smaller than anticipated. I am assuming I can take these to my little village boots rather than having to trail to a larger store. I will also be returning the family games set as someone posted the dominoes inside are cardboard and I wanted a proper set.
Was a bit worried about packaging but thankfully they had left breakable items like the tea pot and starbucks mugs in smaller cardboard boxes inside the bigger box.0 -
is the 90% last week of jan? got my order of perfumes come today boxes all ripped and cant give as a gift sent a email to boots with photos hopefully get a refund0

Anyone looking for the Soap & Glory Girl-O-Whirl sets should head to the large branch of Boots in Darlington. Was in there this morning, they had a whole line of shelves full and a cage trolly half full of them too!
Was about the only thing left in their sale, assistant said they were down to £12 from £40.0 -
Went in to collect my Thursday am order, and the SA said they were having lots of problems with the computer system not recognising the parcels arriving to store (I hadn't had any despatch emails, just kept checking my order history and parcel tracking).0
