Boots sale - now 90% off

It seems that a group of us stayed up and ordered at 5am wednesday morning. Those who opted for store delivery had all items despatched. Those who opted for home delivery had items cancelled. Very unfair, especially after we pay for delivery on top. What is annoying is that items of mine which they cancelled, have since been available online and people have rec'd those items that they cancelled of mine. The boots sale this year has been well and truely a whole farce for me.0

Totally agree. I could have ordered many of my cancelled items on Thursday or Friday. Their stock reservation system is shocking0 -
I have a feeling that if boots have any sense they will look at what did / didn't work this year and change things next year. Whilst many view it as 'it's 70% off, if I get what I ordered it's a bonus, if not, hey ho' there are obviously a lot of disappointed customers which isn't good for boots. For what it's worth I can see potentially;
no big 70 / 75% sale
in store sales only - thus ensuring more stock for stores, less warehouse management for the online flurry (no doubt extra staff had to be bought in to manage all the orders, plus admin queries about orders / refunds / broken items etc) Although this will not be popular with those who cannot get to stores.
Staggered approach to the sale where staff don't put everything out at once - however means staff needed to restock in the day, and boots main objective is to shift everything ASAP
Limit per person spend - not easy to actually implement when staff faced with angry customer looking to make a car boot profit (bit about car booter meant in jest....partly)
No instore sale, online only - website still crashing , orders still being cancelled, packaging still inadequate.
Any more ideas on what kind of sale we'll be discussing next year?Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Mine was an early Wednesday order for store delivery and I did gave cancelled product as did others. Lx*~Life is short; break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly,
laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile!!~*0 -

hmm, food for thought there!
I absolutely agree with your comment in bold..whatever you get is a bonus and you expect glitches and cancellations, I think what has been so annoying though is the fact that orders placed much earlier have sometimes not been fulfilled when later orders have...that's the bit that I can't stomach. If anyone who ordered after say 5.13 on wed didn't get X then that's fair enough but the randomness seems unfair and avoidable?0 -

That's unfortunate how items were cancelled especially if some were showing up the next day.
I stayed up. The "back door" didn't work for me. My basket was emptied when the site went live. I did home delivery and got what I wanted which was probably the popular stuff. No idea how their system works but there is no pattern.Cup of Tea? :coffee:0 -
My order was to in store placed at 5.45am wed and several items weren't delivered either, tried again on thurs and two items were removed. The only recommendation if have is go instore. Despite the madness at least you know what you're buying! So pleased I hedged my bets and went in store just on case as the cancellation emails came much later.0
