Update on Dartford store, had to pop back lunchtime to pick up a prescription, now there's another story, and the sale stuff was almost cleared out. Went to work this afternoon and a colleague told me a woman had cleared the shelf of FCUK sets first thing this morning and had a big IKEA bag full. I did pick up a children's stamp set and a roll of wrapping paper that will do for birthdays, also a few choccie boxes that will do for presents. All in all a good day, well pleased with all the stuff I've bought today.0

Yep, a bargain is a bargain , and as long as you are Happy, that is the main thing. I am not calling it and to be honest I still went back today to grab some more bargains ;-)0

Oh, you're back. How delightful!
Thank you for providing me with some dialogue for the book I'm currently writing. I now have lots of ideas for my 'village idiot' character.
:eek:bit rude
To be honest having read back it's lucky you were just sworn at and didn't leave the store missing teeth after your comments.
My memory of the last Boots sale here involved some pretty scary looking groups of women!0 -

Apparently there was a quite large women who had darted through the doors at opening time only to be either pushed or slipped. She had careered into a sunglasses mobile stand which she had taken down with her. My work colleague said that she was in pain lying on the floor. My colleague said she went to her assistance because it was a heavy fall.
Astonishingly though, she said shoppers were stepping round and over her in their quest to shovel goods into baskets and bags.
The women was actually hurt but there was absolutely no compassion apart from the staff whom were apparently fantastic.
Didn't catch the store, think it was either MK or Notthampton though-maybe you were there? - if so you should be ashamed!!
Nothing more than animals. Should a sad reflection on society...people will literally stop and nothing going by this story and many others on this thread.
Are you sure this wasn't the lady who earlier in the day had attempted to commando roll her way in front of the throng? She was mentioned this lunch time.
While I feel for her sore bits and hurt pride perhaps karma was at play due to her darting in front! I hope she found a bargain on the sunglasses stand.

Found the whole experience really depressing today...:( got a few bits I wanted but was again appaulled by peoples behaviour like many other peoples stories on here and the bargains arent worth people fighting over, ignoring the injured/being racist towards others.
In store I was in, I heard one white couple complain all the asians filling the big mesh baskets full of stuff...was completley untrue. An equal number of whites/asians were using the men 'babysitting' the baskets tactic whilsts the women go back for more. To add insult to injury the white guy in question was guarding 4 or 5 big bags of stuff by his feet whilst his female partner in crime ran off for more)- totally racist, hypocritical and greedy. I was tempted to say something but I didnt think it was worth getting in an argument for.
Another pair of women in my store had about 8 of the big mesh bags between them, blocking aisles and looking at everyone and saying "its for my cousins for next christmas" whilst scooping up 10 of each item. They were doing the standard "you wait here whilst I get 4 of those". Really appauling tactics and quite clearly not for family members/friends/charity/tombola sales. Noone needs 20 fcuk sets.
I would be happy for boots to limit the amount to be sold per customer to £100 as others have suggested but wd be so hard to enforce and they dont care who takes the stuff as long as its gone! Dont think im going to bother next year.
Hope the injured woman recovers okay!
Totally agree with you. I'm glad I got the bits I did, and pretty much stuck to what I went in for, but I felt horrible at all the pushing and shoving that went on. To be fair, most in my store where relatively polite, the poor lady who knocked a whole load of circus bits on me was mortified (I was crouched down putting some circus bits back on the shelf...in the right place as i decided to go with glitter babes instead) I did say to her 'it's ok, at least it wasn't the sanctuary tins' :eek:but I did have to grab the two sanctuary sets I'd been hoping to get as people were just swiping the shelves. It all just felt a bit sad and desperate afterwards somehow.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Re the perfume sets I saw loads of Beyonce sets and some other celeb type sets on the end of the aisle but the sign said £11.50?
Would they have scanned cheaper does anyone reckon or are they not included in the 70% sale in all stores does anyone know?0
