Good morning everyone
Lovely day here but still a bit chilly. That's good if it is going to be reasonable weather in September and October as it is long overdue.
Have a nice enjoyable Saturday everyone!A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Morning 3forholidays  and whoever else pops in
I've not braved the outside world yet but it doesn't look cold and there is a hint of sunshine, so fingers crossed for a nice day.
I'm currently waiting for today's tradesman to arrrive. Hopefully this will be the last one and then I can decide which to use. I would love a magic wand to wave and it would all be done

hope everyone had a good day, a family outing to the opticans, DD had glasses and pr of sun glasses (free), I had 2 prs glasses, and sun glasses - £134 - really pleased with that.
A couple more bits gone on f/b sellers including dining rm table and chairs, brought a smaller one - but that means all the junk hiding under the table now shaming me.... so tidy up next week xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Evening
Hope everyone is doing ok?
All fine here. The last tradesman came on Saturday so I now have a few quotes. Just need to do a little more research (to satisfy myself) and then will be able to pick which to go with.
Nice that it warmed up today... hope it lasts for a little while!

I had a viewing of the 'up for sale' house on Friday so spent several hours on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday dismantling an attic cupboard (after three unsuccessful attempts to get the 6 doors back on), ferrying all the bits downstairs and out to the shed, cleaning (inc mopping ouch) and weeding/ pruning the front and back gardens. Each day I also brought back a large shrub in a 30l tub on my faithful dolly.
Although I didn't do everything I would have liked to I was pleased with what I had achieved. Only got myself going each day with hot baths and ibruprofen and went to bed with aching muscles each day. So was quite happy to have a do nothing Saturday, slightly guilty about Sunday and really think I should be getting going again today.
I have done washing, pegging out to dry - still very difficult - and washing up plus fed myself, although on Friday I grabbed the loaf and some ys sandwich spread and brought them upstairs with me, ran the bath and collapsed on the bed (I already had apples and carrots up here). However I must have either done something wrong or have slept in the wrong position as my left shoulder blade is seriously painful.
As a back up plan, I will start some sewing to sell if I can't get out of bed tomorrow. I can't take part in one of my challenges this month as I have a cash flow problem. May have to cancel a dd and put it on a card for now - was expecting some cash from DS2 which isn't going to happen this month (he paid extra last month), one payment goes in the day after the dd is due and DS3 gives me 4 weeks 'keep' the day after that. Must sell some stuff, make more for selling and juggle a bit more - just the strain of keeping two houses going and worrying that as we head into Winter buyers are thin on the ground.
But we are supposed to get some good weather in September and October - all together now "Always look on the bright side of life...."My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Think the indian summer has arrived
Absolutely lovely in my garden today, better than the summer.
Having a busy week, decorator was here today (wallpapering kitchen) and will be back tomorrow. The joiner is coming tomorrow to work outside (and a little bit in the kitchen...how will that work in my small room?!) And I'm taking DM to the hospital. Honestly, it's either a famine or a feast! But I can't turn down tradesmen when they want to come, I want the jobs done.
Noticed that they both contacted me the night before they wanted to come, no notice, just "can I come tomorrow?" Is this the way they do it nowadays or are they just happy to work like that because they know me and have been coming for years?
Pup lost her first baby tooth today...she caught her mouth on her lead and suddenly started sort of choking and spitting, and her mouth was all blood. Didn't know what to expect looking in her mouth, but discovered it was a tooth coming out. A bit worried until the decorator told me that puppies have baby teeth just like humans and it would be about ready to come out anyway...don't know why I hadn't thought of that! She was perfectly happy once it was out, and spent the day playing in the garden
I saved the tooth for DS2 (aren't you meant to keep baby's first teeth?) but I don't think he wants it :rotfl:
mothernerd, fingers crossed with the house viewer.
We have had to put aunts house back on the market, lost our buyer as he didn't want to wait any longer while we got probate to sell. Our paperwork is still stuck at the tax office, almost impossible to get through to them on the phone, and when we do just told it'll get done eventually.
Tbh my heart sinks at the thought of starting again.

My builder has now been here for two weeks and I'm not planning on letting him go anytime soon... all of the external paintwork (windows, doors, joist tails, weatherboard, bargeboard, garage doors and windows) will have been dealt with (including a LOT of wood hardener and filler for the garage) by the end of this week. Then they will be back inside (not sure I'm entirely looking forward to it) to finish the bathroom, redo the pipework for the downstairs heating (so it isn't in ducts in the floor anymore), tile the splashback in the downstairs loo, redo the pipework for upstair radiators and replace the old radiators, put new loft insulation in (and a new loft hatch), and if I can keep them captive long enough, sort out the ensuite and paint my bedroom. And maybe sort out the floorboards upstairs once we know they won't need to be taken up again...
I really like them - and I'm glad I waited for them to be available. Not only do they get on and work without disturbing me (as I'm working from home while they are here), but they deal with my deliveries and sign for my parcelsThe only downside is the lack of privacy. I can't sit in the garden when I've got a break. Or go for a run (as I can't bath and change when I get back). But it'll be fantastic when they've finished this next lot of work

That's some list of work Greenbee! Lucky you have good builders.
I'm one step closer to getting my jobs done
garage is now repaired, but now needs preservative put on the wood.
Kitchen wallpapered, now needs painted...seems like it'll never end, but of course it will one day.
My new kitchen tap is seized solid, so a replacement is required.
Extra bonus today...joiner took a large basketball net from my driveway for the kids in his village, so a big thing no longer needed gone :T
(It was very very heavy, I suggested he drive his van right up to it to load it in, but he carried and pushed and pulled it...I think my idea was better :rotfl:)
I would have liked to go and watch the Tour of Britain today, realised there were good viewing points within 20 miles of home, but just had too much on. Never mind, watched a bit on tv, not the same though.
