Moving the clocks forward doesn't fool My Boy Cat....he knew it was tea time...as the clock said 4pm :rotfl:

It's been blowing a Gale here...telephone wires came down, they'd only been renewed recently so no surprise I guess...I spent an amusing few minutes watching people drive over/through the swinging wires without knowing if they were electric :cool:

Now the A road right next door to me, is closed by police both ways, so looks like yet another accident :(

I'm watching Inspector Montalbano and can almost convince myself I understand Italian without reading the subtitles. Italian women are all Sophia Loren's it seems too ;) none in their Pjs, unless you count skimpy negligees :o.

    .

Does he usually have afternoon tea? Wouldn't 4pm today, have been 3pm before the clocks were moved? He's trying it on :rotfl:

Last year one of my neighbours came home late on the Saturday night after an evening out, and put all the clocks forward. Next morning he's forgotten he'd done it, and put them forward again. Then he visited some other neighbours, who'd booked somewhere nice for Sunday lunch...he was so convincing that his times were right that they thought they'd got it wrong and rushed off far too early for lunch...he's not allowed to touch the clocks in the house now :rotfl:

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?

Yes, he has afternoon tea...:rotfl: he has breakfast at leisure (mine)...and then has dinner around 3 ish...maybe a snack in the middle of the night, because I put biscuits down.

Inspector Montalbano is on Bbc4...I've seen a couple or so, series. Lovely views, beautiful people, and although some violence, there's humour as well. There's everything stereotypical but it's made by the Italians. I've learned a smattering of Italian :D. Ciao baby....

JKS, I too like "things in custard"...any kind of sponge, or blackcurrant jam swirled through it mmm. Those of you who left home in the 70s, do you remember arctic roll in custard? trendy :rotfl:
Can you still get arctic roll nowadays?

And I can't think of a meal which isn't improved by sticking pastry on top :)
I think we'll be forming an orderly queue for lunch at yours.

What a shame you don't have a convenient single friend who likes Sunday lunch out. It can be hard arranging company at the weekends.

I don't have any single friends, so yes, it is difficult on the weekends I don't have kids. I do hope to make one, but every woman I meet is in a couple - we've had 3 new starters at work; all married (& 2 don't look old enough :rotfl:), the last 2 new bookgroup members are both married, as is the lady I spoke to who's just moved into the next street. There used to be a singles club in the town (specifically not for dating) & their website listed a few events out of many that sounded fun, but nothing listed recently. I emailed the lady who ran it only for her to reply that she'd just got married (at 68, so I suppose I've got another 22 years :D) & that the club had folded. There simply weren't enough single people around to sustain it :rotfl:

On a bad day that makes me feel even more like a social leper :(

That did make me laugh Ellie.

Well I've had a fairly productive day - I got off my behind & gutted DD's bedroom. It was hideous. A million dirty socks under the bed, sweet wrappers & used tissue everywhere. She's not the tidiest . But now her clothes are washed, ironed & hanging up, her shelves have been cleaned & books/DVDs put on them rather than lying on the floor, &I've been able to vacuum. Bed is stripped, waiting for a better day to wash the duvet etc.. I've done everything I can bar sort through her carp :rotfl:

I did find a few things I probably shouldn't; an e-cigarette thingy, a small bottle of vodka & a mixer  but that wasn't the aim - I was looking to find the source of an odd smell, which I did. An old Pot Noodle carton with some left in it, cultivating a raft of mould

I'm hoping she'll be pleased, as she's been struggling with starting, never mind keeping on top of dealing with stuff, & I'm also hoping she'll manage to keep it tidy :rotfl:

Of course, now I suppose I'm going to have to gut DS's room too. I thought it would be the lesser of the two evils, but he has tons to Lego.... I'm off to town to buy some stacking boxes with lids & some raisers for his bed so that all his carp can fit underneath it.

I'm glad I have the smallest room in the house as it never takes long to gut it.

I've also slobbed for a while watching the US version of House of Cards - don't think its as good as the old British version, but I only got to the start of episode 2 before I dropped off. Too much cleaning :rotfl:

Hope all of you going to work tomorrow haven't got the Sunday evening blues.
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

I've been meaning to tape it but keep forgetting, so I'd be rubbish at guessing whodunit :rotfl:. Did you see Zen - I loved it, such a shame it didn't get another series. I did feel quite inferior though, they're all so beautiful in it - not something you should watch in PJs :D

It's funny that cats aren't confused by the time change (mine came downstairs for dinner bang on 7.15pm which was 6.15pm cat tummy time and their normal dinner time :rotfl:).

Yet I am thoroughly confused and only just putting my chicken in now for my Sunday "lunch"....It's going to be 10pm before it's ready but that's 9pm my tummy time which is still far too late

Why don't they just leave the bloomin clocks alone??!

    :rotfl:

Never mind...long weekend to look forward to next weekend :T

I never work out whodunit...by the time I've missed some of the subtitles, got distracted by the beautiful women and thinking, I need to do something with myself, I've lost the plot...but Salvo, the lead, loves his food and there's often scenes with him just eating. He swims in the sea so can eat what he likes. The houses are old and stunning.

No I haven't heard of Zen...

Oh my dinner today was baked potato and left over gravy :D

I don't have single friends where I live, which can sometimes make me feel even more alone. With the best will in the world, they don't know what's it's like to be alone. I'm often told how either they would love to have their own space, or how they'd never live with a partner again. Or, they are going to be alone at Xmas...except for their partner being there of course.

It's funny, because when I was married all my friends were single!
