Note your signature with interest....never did pay much (any:p;)) attention in Latin lessons at school...ahem....

Sounds like there is A Tale behind that signature? Are things going okay for you at present?

LOL, no, no story behind it. I haven't had a signature before, I thought I'd try one for 2015, and this one fits nicely with my name on here :). Oh, and I'm no Classicist - I just Googled it :o.

Life is good at the moment. I don't know what tomorrow will bring (does anyone?), so I'm just enjoying today.

Can I just ask, Mum2one - Why do you need air conditioning?
    Just curious :-)

No probs, the posh word is hyperhydrolisic basically I sweat like a pig, pour buckets of the stuff out, in summer I have to take change of clothes out as by time start sweating down back looks like wet myself, can't even escape in winter as go out 15 mins later my hair is ringing.

There is treatment but as I don't sweat from the standard places under arms, feet, palms, I'm stuck.

It looks embarrassing, I aure people think I enter miss wet tshirt comps xx

This evening I watched some catch up tv - by watching Father Brown that I had recorded earlier today. The programme always makes me smile because I know the lead actor Mark Williams. He and I went to the same school but he is 2 years' older than me. Talking of Latin, I remember when he was applying for Oxford and then he discovered that he had to have an O Level in Latin and he hadn't studied Latin at all, he came into my class and I remember helping him with his homework.

I have spent part of the afternoon and night sorting out some park business - it would seem that someone hit someone else's dog with a walking stick and caused injury. I became involved because I was contacted. Sometimes I wish that people would train their dogs to come when called and that way incidences of this kind are less likely to happen.

I have also put out appeals for women that worked at the local factory (now demolished) who are willing to be interviewed as part of an arts project. The project is a way of capturing the memories of people that worked in the factory and the men have already been interviewed and now it is the turn of the women for their work must be celebrated too. I guess where I live is fairly unique because the area has a huge car making history which eventually disappeared through mismanagement and greed.

We have had more snow - my car has a covering and the front lawn does too (I looked out of my bedroom window) but it is only a light covering. Apparently we are due more overnight:eek: If it is snowy tomorrow then I won't be going out at all.

When I go to bed at night or if I am in my bedroom, I like to look out of my bedroom window, last night I looked out at around 11pm to see a dog fox trotting down my neighbour's path and heading up the road. Foxes must be able to climb because there is no access to his garden unless you go over the 6ft high wall. I know that Foxy visits my garden as does Badger because the pair of them have worn a groove in my back lawn. It is a very distinct path that I can see from my kitchen window.

Here's hoping for a peaceful day tomorrow.

    Morning everyone

It's rare for me to be here during the day :p I had a docs appointment this morning which confirmed what I have suspected for a little while now...I have a chest infection :( They have given me some antibiotics so hopefully that should sort me out.

I was shocked at the chemist when they told me the charge for the prescription... £8.05  I obviously haven't been for a number of years as I don't remember it being anymore than about a fiver.

I'm working at home for the rest of the day but wanted to pop in and say hi before I get back to the less interesting tasks of the day

Hope you are all keeping warm and safe - particularly for those of you in the snowy parts of the country. We had a couple of inches overnight here but pretty much melting away now

    BW :)

I, too, am working from home but without the chest infection :o. Hope you feel better soon.

It's still snowing here....my poor chooks took one look at the white world this morning, and decided to stay in the covered part of their run, and who can blame them? :rotfl:

I need it to STOP SNOWING NOW

    :rotfl:

    Ah well, back to work...

    LB xx

    Afternoon peeps

Sorry to hear that you have a chest infection BW - the cost of prescriptions these days is extortionate. I hope you stay home in the warm and that you start to feel better soon.

LB I know how your chooks feel - I am hibernating indoors today. We had about 2cm of snow overnight if that but more is forecast. I want the snow to go because although it looks pretty it is inconvenient.

Will be resting my eyes a bit today - I have a flare up of uveitis and that makes using the computer difficult because it is too bright. The curtains downstairs are barely open - just pulled slightly apart to show that I am still alive, I will be able to open them fully when the sun moves round.

I will be pottering around the house doing more menial tasks.

Bookworm, hope the tablets kick in quickly.

Can't stand snow, highly inconvenient stuff.

Hope all you ladies with snow have been out with your snow shovels clearing it :D
I have, luckily there wasn't very much lying. I'm slightly obsessive about keeping my drive clear of snow and ice free :o
I was thinking about it when I was out...
obviously being on my own I have to do it myself, and sometimes it makes my back more painful. I'm the only single woman in my street, the rest are couples and a few widowers, and I never notice any other women out clearing snow, it's all the men out there. I hope the ladies all appreciate their husbands doing it :)

I do mine, then I do an elderly couples in the street to save them going out. I've really had enough of winter now, desperate for spring to arrive!

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?

Thanks for the well wishes ladies :)

Re: snow clearing. It's not bad enough here to worry about that today but I do usually clear the drive I share with next door whenever there is snow. They are older (although not really elderly...yet) but as they regularly take parcels in for me when I am at work - I like to repay them by being the 'snow clearer' when I can

Very organised day hit the boots 70% sale used vouchers and points did spend £50 whoops - but pay for itself when update my bday and Xmas lists.

Complete change around I have one debt less as from today, finally paid off my one catalogue, all the emails now going into spam when the payment clears there end I intend to close the account, attack the Mr little catalogue next- sounds daft in the whole debt circle its a tiny amount but to me its one less debt.

Off to cinema later - don't know if anyone uses the Orange Wednesday - that's stopping middle feb, whether another phone supplier will take over the deal I don't know. It's shocking it was £9 for 1 ticket - it's unbelievable - were taking packet sweets and out drink in, it's more expensive for 2 to go to the cinema and have a treat than go out for a meal xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
