Afternoon all.
I've been a bit naughty todayI was in work this morning and having a rubbish day and so decided at very short notice to book the afternoon off! So I am now happily sat at home on the sofa
Byatt - I'm afraid I don't have any good rabbit catching tips but I hope you manage to catch your houdini bunny0 -
Success! :T Hear that sound? That's me downing a whisky and coke.
Caught her just before 3pm...got there about 1.30ish and spotted her in the garden, had read up via Google not to chase as they can go into "prey" mode and run for the hills, so gently threw (ahem) apple slices (minus the pips) and bits of carrot...she took no notice...put 2 bunnies out, one her OH and the other newer one, in the hope she would be tempted...no luck, took them back in about 2,45...poor OH was pining (they have a habit of falling out but I imagine the make up sex must be really good as they are all lovey doevey for a while,...anyway, went back into the garden armed with a fishing net on a pole (don't ask!)...and spotted her again, we did the bunny cha cha and she was less timid, just not enough to let me catch her, although a good rugby tackle manouver would have worked...I just don't have the body for that...soooooo...
opened the run door and flung more carrot and apple in, and somehow or other, she went in whilst I kicked the door shut! :T
I then had to get her out of the run, but we'll leave it there I think...
except when meeting with OH again, they both fell into each others' paws, as if they had been apart for weeks, it was so cute I couldn't be cross.I don't think I've ever had a man look at me that way,
;)
I am sooooo relieved....did I say I was relieved.
I think she was motivated by food though, so thanks for all the tips.
And Calico, I totally agree about rabbits, they are so cute and fluffy to look at, and I used to want one, not since looking after these , they require MUCH more attention than a cat! And the females have both been a bit nasty and very jumpy, even though the owner handles them a lot, they go in the home as well...the boys are lovely, usually picked on by the females...nature eh?! :rotfl:
I'm hyper with relief!0 -
Byatt - :Twell done for catching the wayward bunny and :rotfl:at your story telling
. I will join you in celebrating

Evening all. Just a quick post from me, to distribute some birthday cake :bdaycake: and hugs to anyone who wants them.
Had a lovely quiet day. Into town to put my b'day money into the bank, and then a quiet few hours here while OH was at the housing office. Thinks everything is sorted now - he's been told he won't have to 'bid' for a property - because of his disabilities he'll be matched with one instead , which is much better. Especially since he's on the Silver tier (bronze, silver, gold, platinum) so we'd been a bit worried it would take yonks.
As for here, I can now start getting the house sorted. Should have begun a month ago but have been studying - passed my exam yesterday :T so no more!
Right, off to Mr T as I want real cake now!Not heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

Congratulations on all of that! :T, and Happy Birthday, too0 -
BYATT....well done....and phew!!
If they are breeding bunnies they are more vicious than pets that are done. I was very green about these things when first started in the pet shop and got sold a very young...but pregnant rabbit by a not so nice breeder.
Anyhow, said rabbit turned into the exorcist further into pregnancy....to the point where we couldn't get her out of hutch or even put food in without her attacking. I have never seen anything so wild in the isles. One person had to be at one end of hutch to get her to go that end, so someone else could throw food etc in...it was a nightmare.
Rabbits need lots of attention and then they are lovely, otherwise they are more of a Ted-Bundy.
Happy Birthday Metherer.....hope the real cake is lovely.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
Happy Birthday Metherer. hope u have a great day xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0

Too much excitement for some of us, between unwanted water features (commiserations, mum2one) and wayward bunnies... hope everyone is having a relaxing evening. Not surprised you necked a whisky and coke, Byatt. What a responsibility!
My daughter's rabbit was supposed to be a dwarf but grew bigger than the cat, who got terrorised by the bunny and was chased round the garden at top speed.... we shouldn't have laughed, but it was complete role reversal. The cat was in the huff with all of us.
Was a longer working week this week, and additionally I'm doing a can collection for the charity I work for tomorrow. Just the one day, though. We have a funding gap, so whilst fundraising isn't my job, we don't have a fundraiser and we need the money, and also we do pick up referrals when we have collections, so people get helped and get to know about our service and are less alone as a result.
We had the sideways sleet here too today, with sunshine inbetween. Brrrrr.
Happy birthday metherer, I hope you've had a lovely day.If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Happy Birthday Metherer - thanks for the virtual cake. Hope you enjoy the real one - yum!
I'm still chilling on the sofa but now have a G&T to help me along0 -
Morning
I had a lovely 10 hour sleep and feel so refreshed this morning. :T
I was expecting there to be sunshine today but looks like the weather people got it wrong again as just another grey day outside.
I'm having a quiet day at home. Enjoy whatever you are up to
