I did thanks.
Pity I got home on Friday to find the dentist has issued the outstanding £31 to the hands of a debt collector. Despite me trying to reach their practice manager for the past few weeks - twice via their website 'contact us' form, multiple phone calls - she's either 'busy' or 'not in the office' and at least two phone messages which have never been returned.
I don't know whether to try phoning her direct today or go directly to their complaints procedure.0 -

Another attempt to contact the so-called Practice Manager - not much evidence of 'managing' going on. She's not in the office today and the girl I spoke to said I couldn't pay over the phone and after checking with someone else, said I had to pay via the collections agency. I was very polite, although I didn't feel it, and thanked her.
I then phoned the collections people to see if I could pay via the 'net and dispute the extra that's been added (its now about £40 and change). No, is the answer.
However, she's taken my reference number and logged a dispute. Again, I stated I was happy to pay the £31 but was very disappointed the PM had not contacted me so this issue could be resolved.
So, I'm trying to draft a letter that's factual and non-emotional. I'll send recorded to the collections people, the dentist's head office (they've got a few practices) and maybe my dentist himself.
I don't want to be 'struck' off - 'cos I actually like my dentist. I just think his admin staff couldn't run a bath!0 -
I haven't had a chance to catch up on the forums lately, but I actually heard from the Assistant Practice Manager at the Dentist yesterday by phone.
As I thought, all sorted in a five minute phone call. She's phoned the collections agency to have my name removed and sent me an email stating "Sorry for the miscommunication". I went into their offices today and paid the £31 that I owed.
Do you think its worth waiting a bit (couple of weeks or a month or so) to check my credit rating with the various agencies, just in case they've registered anything. Even though they state it won't have. Thoughts?
As for the actual Practice Manager - still no sign of. I'm still considering going via the complaints procedure as I think the whole issue has been poorly handled.
Hope all are well and I'll try and catch up on various diaries shortly.0 -

Glad its all sorted but what a pain its been for you.
Its very unlikely I would say that its been recorded but may be worth checking. I use Noddle, its free !!
What I would do though is follow up in writing to the Collections agency, confirming it has all been settled with the Dentist and paid in full to them and ask them to confirm in writing that they no longer have any further interest in you or the so called debt. I always do this....just in incase !! xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

I'll try. The one time I went to register they couldn't - one of the downsides of not having used credit in years. They've got nothing recent on record for me and couldn't verify my identify.PinotGrigio41 wrote: »What I would do though is follow up in writing to the Collections agency, confirming it has all been settled with the Dentist and paid in full to them and ask them to confirm in writing that they no longer have any further interest in you or the so called debt.
