Not a hope. Totally useless!
The previous tenant was there for over six years, single mother with one child - at the beginning, she had another baby a few months before she left. The older child was about six when they moved in. Wood floors, child, bouncing balls, 'lead' feet = noise. She'd regularly run the washing machine at 11.00 p.m., despite knowing it was directly over my bed. If I bothered to report it to the letting agents (about once in every 10-20 times), I'd get a wishy-washy "oh, she knows she's not meant to do that".
Screaming matches between mother and child (I know single parenthood is difficult), but when she's yelling at him to stand outside - in the cold - at 7.00 a.m. Not good. I actually reported her to Social Services for that as there was so much anger in her voice, it scared me. I'm used to my siblings and I screaming "I hate you / I wish you'd never been born", but I'd never heard a parent say it to a child. Judging from a comment they made, which they probably shouldn't have - it sounds as if she wasn't unknown to them previously. She also had a live-in boyfriend for the latter couple of years - against the tenancy agreement - but since he tended to stop arguments between mother and son - I let that one go. She was later evicted for lack of payment of rent. So, a married couple with no kids is kinda bliss compared to before.debtfreewannabe321 wrote: »Perhaps if he sees it as a problem he might be willing to negotiate on a low price for you to buy his half of the garden?
Maybe. I'd like to top the largish tree on his side. It hasn't been touched in the many years I've lived there. I'm afraid its getting top-heavy. But at least its at the far end of the garden, so if anything does happen - it won't reach the house.0 -

Yep, the involuntary leg movements are back. Oh joy! I'm up-to-date with work and not worried about anything else, so perhaps it's the medication I'm taking.
In the meantime, the choices are: NZ v. India test cricket (live); followed by rugby union 7s (live) or Big Bash Cricket Final (recorded - don't tell me the result!)
Unfortunately, this lack of sleep probably means I'll be too tired to accomplish anything worthwhile for the rest of the weekend.
I miss my sleep!0 -
Oh no, sorry to hear about all the problems you've had. Sounds a nightmare
I was a single parent for 5 years but I would go out of my way to avoid arguments with neighbours over anything for fear they'd have already judged me anyway for being a young single mum! I just don't understand some people!
Have you asked your DR about the side effects of whatever drug you are on? I put up with restless leg syndrome for months before I just couldn't take it any more and went to the drs, they told me it was a common side effect of the drug! I wish i'd known sooner I would have come straight off of them. Once I found out I found alternatives to the tablets and have been much better with sleeping and my health in general since
I hope you got back to sleep and have a good weekend xxEmergency Fund goal - £1000/2000

I didn't mind that she was a single mother - I mean, marriages and relationships break down for all sorts of reasons - but it was more the noise factor.
Tablets - I'll make a note to tell Dr. about the insomnia and restless leg(s) when I have my next review. I've only been taking them since the beginning of the year, so these side effects are all new (and annoying) to me.0 -
Just wanted to drop in quickly and say hello, I am still here and reading, but I haven't had a chance to post.

Thanks Mrs. PG.
I usually want to post more than I do, especially on other people's diaries, but I worry that I'm being too brief or trite. I find it difficult when I've only got my smartphone - small screen, etc. and when at work - well, funnily enough they expect me to do ... work.
I've been debating on a posting on my diary, but worry it might be too graphic if I tell the truth (lots of 'female problems').
Anyway, better try and get back to sleep.
Take care of yourself.0 -
Hmm a 3am post isnt good Madam ! I hope that you manged to get some sleep.
I dont like posting from the phone, I find it much easier on the PC, although I generally rush and end up with the most awful typos ! Think people are used to them now though. Dont worry about how little you do or dont write I doubt anyone would take offence, most are a lovely bunch
Sorry to hear about your problems. Only you can decide what to post or not, its very personal. Maybe write your post down, read it back and see what you think ? If it will help you by posting then go for it, you may find others in similar situations who can support you. You never know.
If not, you know where I am . PM me if you need a chat, I dont claim to be an expert on anything much, but I am happy to listen if it helps x
Hope you have a good day. Take Care xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

I know. I feel asleep watching telly (nothing new - comfy sofa and I was warm), but woke up around 2.00 a.m. and got back to sleep around 5.00 a.m. Up again at 7.00 a.m. feeling suitably shattered.
At least there's not another tube strike to contend with. I think that would have finished me off.
Thanks for the kind words.0 -

Your welcome. Lack of sleep is awful isnt it. I struggle with sleep, I tend to wake at 2, go back to sleep at 6 and then wake up feeling rough as you like when the alarm goes off 45 mins later !
That tube strike was a nightmare last week, we ended up driving, took three and half hours I think, it was better coming home but we didnt leave until 8pm. Thankgoodness its been called off today

I second what Mrs Pg says, and say post what you like
especially on your own diary! When I'm on my tablet or my phone I usually read and run (well I usually click the thanks button too so I know how far i've got :rotfl:) and if I do reply it's usually short as I hate typing ona touch screen, I miss a key pad!
I've had a fair few female problems myself over these last few years and have mentioned them on my diary although probably not in detail (although memory is terrible and I may have done but forgotten about that
) And I agree if you want to put it in here then do so as others may have been in your situation and have some good advice
.
I hope the sleep situation sorts itself out. If it started around the same time as you started the tablets i'd be going back to get them changed. This happened to me but took me forever to link the insomnia to the tablets (by forever I mean a few weeks. But when you've not slept for weeks on end it feels like forever!!)
Hope you get some sleep later, perhaps try a nice hot bath, turn the tv off an hour before you sleep and a hot drink (all suggested by the dr to me
) and another that did work well was doing exercise about an hour or so before bed followed by a hot shower/bath
