Lucky you, keep your head down!

Mine is as they had advised - just one on 5% now, the others all got slashed.

    Very strange!
    Likewise.

I drew down the balances on my 2nd and 3rd accounts on the date which was 2 months from the date of my letter, and I appear to have lost out on around £1.20 of interest (gross) across both accounts (according to my calculations)

Somehow the date must have been wrong? Never mind, I'll stooz the overdrafts for the next 2 months. :D

Adindas: To try and answer your question (since you keep on asking it), I've used the overdrafts for a couple of days this month and haven't incurred any fees. However, the T&Cs do seem to say they'll give me 21 days notice, so maybe I have incurred fees and I don't yet know? However, what have you done by way of research? Have you tried anything yourself? Seems a little unfair to expect others to fall on the sword for your benefit.

I seem to have received 5% until 2 days before the date they said it would end, then 1% for 4 days, after which I emptied the account.

Like YB, I haven't been charged any OD fees yet

I am not a happy bunny either. Reduced all the accounts to £1, which they stated they were reducing to 1% after 2 months on the 20th and kept £2500 in the accounts they stated in the letter would remain at 5%. Now found they have only paid 1% instead of 5% on one of these accounts and paid 5% on one that was supposed to reduce to 1%.

  • Unless you're confused and you don't actually have a FlexAccount, but a FlexDirect account
That was a mistake on my part, however if I had meant a FlexAccount I would have typed FlexAccount however I typed flex account, note the space.

I suppose I incorrectly assumed that it would be obvious what I was posting about since it was in a thread about FlexDirect.

Your terminological inexactitude is forgiven.and it was not a matter of consequence.

It is important for those with 'Nationwide' to express their views on the exact nature of their accounts. I have FlexDirect and FlexAccount

I have decided to open a Clydesdale Bank Current Account Direct account as 4% is pretty decent. Not too impressed so far that 1) you can't apply online 2) you have to wait for them to call you once they have checked you are eligible 3) the people that check if you're eligible don't work at the weekend 4) they use 0845 numbers, and worse, 0844 numbers.

    hi

you don't have to apply online, you can call them direct on without starting the process online and they do the eligibility check there and then, i did this as didn't want to wait around for a call, and it took less than 20 mins to apply and confirm eligablilty, and they are open on saturdays until 5pm according to the yorkshire
site.http://www.ybonline.co.uk/personal/current-accounts/opening-a-current-account/ you can open either branded account on that line as when i called they asked me which branch if any i had a preference for.

Saynoto0870 is a very useful website! I checked for the number but it didn't have an alternative. Should have thought to do a company search too which as you say has loads!

Thanks for the info. I initially filled in the form on Thursday but like you didn't want to wait for the call back so gave them a call today. I was told that the people that check eligibility don't work at the weekend so they couldn't open the account today. Will give them a call on Monday morning.
