Firstly, if anyone is willing to risk the possibility of receiving bad feedback in return, the computer parts seller reported previously http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=67857&item=6719383267&rd=1 has feedback of 98.1%. If this were to be reduced a couple of notches they would slip below the 98% necessary to remain a powerseller!
I've just looked, and it's now 97.9% but he's still listed as a power seller.
???
And selling something for 1p on Buy it Now and then charging £9.99 postage? Ugh! >:( That should annoy eBay (avoiding fees) as much as it annoys me (dishonesty)!Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
I think this is a pointless thread. I have used ebay to buy and sell numerous times with no problems. The scams are easy to spot. Ebay do their best to remove obvious scams but with millions of items listed it can never come close to being perfect.
Buyer beware, maybe it's not an appropriate site for those who rant about it continually. They should stick to local markets where they can see what they are getting!!
Sorry but I totally disagree. eBay has become full of rubbish such as links and pyramid schemes. When you try to search for items all you find is crap appearing! All the people who sell this rubbish sometimes hide exactly what the user is buying! This means that if you come accross an item with five minutes to end, it means that you have to read loads and loads of writing, this could mean that you loose the item, as the seller puts loads and loads of small print and pointless text into the items descrption!
This thread is NOT pointless! >:( This thread on numerous occasions has helped users being conned out of money and I for one feel better knowing that at least some people are realising that they need to be careful when bidding!0 -

Anyone who is stupid enough to pay for "Information" shouldn't go near auction sites. We unfortunately live in a world where our stupidity is always someone else's fault! Same goes for boxes!!

Caveat Empor.
Yes but when the seller only says its a link in tons of writing how is a new and unexperienced buyer going to know that its a link! Even the more experienced buyers can get caught out!0 -
How exactly do you suggest ebay go about this then?0

Removed my previous post as I felt it was not appropriate!0

that isnt neccessaary....
The idea is , that the more people that report an ebay auction, then ebay are more likely to take notice and pull the auctionsmile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....
