  • Ok blonde moment - I forgot that you need 2 direct debits. Massive loss of MSE points :(

However on a brighter note we spent the bank holiday weekend painting our lounge, stairs and landing area (stairs are in the lounge if you know what I mean. So all had to be done) I must say that both the hubby and I are really pleased with how it has turned out. The house is really starting to feel like our home.

Also my pay day was Friday and had a nice £652 half yearly bonus and after the tax man has had his grubby mits on his share, I'm am left with a decent amount which is going to be my holiday spending money. Not that I plan to spend it all but it's there if there are things we want to do as I had originally thought that I wouldn't have any to take.

Really excited for Saturday and it will be overpayment day and there is £450 sat waiting to do its job.

Hi jimlad, thanks for stopping by :)
Paperwork arrived today and new mortgage free date is exactly 25 years away. Three years knocked already already and we are only 2 years in.

Also excited as we have picked up our holiday money and so excited to be going in just over a week. However it does mean that October's overpayment will be a little late. Better late than never?

  • Oh bu**er, the oven has packed up. Unfortunately I found out the hard way when we put tea in last night and when I went to get it out of the oven the food was still cold as the oven had only got up to about 25 degrees. Looks like we are going cooker shopping today as well as holiday shopping. Don't think it's going to be a mse day :(

  • So £200 on a new oven :( not very mse but then again we need to cook food. On a brighter note we did a £450 overpayment as soon as we came back and the paperwork arrived today so signature updated. I cannot believe that have cleared almost £10k almost 2 years.

  • Hi all, sorry I've been away for a while. Sorted home insurance out and with a bit of tweaking I got £140 knocked off the renewal quote and approx £3 per month cheaper. Not much but every little helps.

Yesterday we did our overpayment but as my mum has given £500 back that she borrowed, it meant that we overpaid £950. I am so looking forward to the paperwork.

Hope you all had a good bonfire weekend?
