Slightly off topic but thought it worth mentioning for you.....
If you don't have a Barclaycard their acceptance criteria seems to be a bit less stringent as it used to be, they have some good 0% BT cards and an eligibility checker, so might be worth 10 mins of your time.0 -

After pondering over the weekend curiosity got the better of me today:D
With my now clean credit file and 3 years worth of positive history, I decided I would give it a go. Then I decided I would also try my own bank as well. I have my current account with them with a £300 OD limit, I have never used this at all and my account is always in credit, so I thought OK lets try...............
Flatly refused by my own bank despite them knowing me:mad:!!!
I went back onto the eligibility checker again for MBNA Platinum 29 month card and just as before it said NO for that one but said they could offer me the 16 month 0% card that quite a few on this thread have been offered. So I thought what the hell, in for a penny, in for a pound. So I hit continue filled in a few more details and pressed continue................
:rotfl:DRUM ROLL AS THE TENSION BUILDS:rotfl:
Your application has been approved and your credit limit will be £2,400.
What happens next?- You will receive an email in the next few days confirming the approval of your application.
To ensure that you receive all email communications about your application, add mbnaaccept@mbnaapply.co.uk to your email address book or safe list. - Your new credit card and PIN will arrive separately by post within the next 7-10 business days. When your credit card arrives please sign the back of it straight away. It is likely that you will receive your PIN before your credit card.
- You will then need to activate your credit card - go to mbna.co.uk/activate and log in or register for Online Card Services and then follow the activation instructions. This only takes a few minutes – you’ll just need your new MBNA Credit Card and your welcome letter to hand.
I have got 16 months 0% on BT, 0% on purchases for 3 months, and 0% on money transfers to a bank account for 16 months. APR 20.9%
The Vanquis card will be getting closed as soon as MBNA card arrives:T0 - You will receive an email in the next few days confirming the approval of your application.

I have just done the eligability check for barclaycard and apparently I have an 'Excellent chance' of getting the barclaycard initial. I am not going to apply yet for I have a cunning plan! My capital one has interest free for 3 months same as barclaycard so I am thinking if I have not cleared the capital one card by the time the interest free runs out I will apply then (roughly 2 months time) and do a balance transfer :-) I will also hopefully have another couple of good marks on my credit file :-)Debt free by xmas 2014 challenge #114 £230.35/£5840 Roadkill rebel Jan 2014 #79 £0.00 Extra payment a week 2014 £30.14 7/52 50p saver 2014 #?? £14.00 20p saver 2014 #41 £6.80 1% challenge #?? debt 1 1% debt 2 0% Make £50 a month Jan £75.00 Xmas fund 2014 £70.99 Loose change pot £15.45

I tried the MBNA checker and got offered 20months at 0%. I was a bit surprised as I have just done my start of the year financial tidy up and have had a few applications on the credit file after changing bank accounts and what not and I usually leave the credit card swap for a couple of months until the applications seem less significant. Anyway since I was offered it I thought I would go ahead with the application and said I had a balance transfer of approx £2500. Failed the application. Think I probably asked for too high a credit limit.0

Are you sure the 3 month offer on the Initial card includes BT's??? I thought it was 3 months 0% on new purchases......0 -
Just tried this and quite a bit different from the guide of MSE eligibility.
MSE checker stated 70% chance for the 29 month BT on MBNA.
MBNA could only offer 16 months on BT. not what i thought but a good option for a later date.
Nationwide soft search offered 24 month BT so maybe.
Does anyone know if Halifax has soft search eligibility checker?0
