  • Hi There
It seems to me that you have already made up yr mind, its just a case now of going ahead with the abortion. I personally don't agree with abortion but at the same time im not going to judge someone that goes ahead with one, you do what you feel is best, I was young when I had my first daughter & yes both me and my husband found it hard but we coped and did the best we could as parents, I worked right up until I had my daughter (she was 2 months early) & then I went back after 1 month..
I now have 2 beautiful daughters (lost a son 8 yrs ago) but the thought of having another child now is daunting to me & its also selfish to the other children (my opinion completely).
I love my life now & being able to do stuff with my hubby when kids are at school is great...

Whatever you decide just make sure your doing it for all the right reason & the support is there if you need it..

    Good luck x
  • Just to say a big thankyou again for all the thoughtful people who have pm'd me.
It has been an emotional time over the last few days but i have made a decision to go through with the abortion.
To all the posters who have advised to wait a few more weeks to re-think and make sure, i don't really want to wait any longer nor let the pregnancy progress any further than it has to.

My husband is a supportive one but i think that he too is going through an emotional time.
I have told a close family member who has supported me a lot and can understand that in my circumstances a baby at this time is not a viable option.
The procedure is booked in for tomorrow morning so no doubt there will be no sleep for me this evening.
This thread has helped me to weigh up the views and options and i'm sure this is the right thing for us at this stage. Hubby will now go back to the doctors and try and fast-track his vasectomy, he is even looking to go private if they can do it any sooner.

I'll stick my neck out here. I think not being able to afford a baby is a poor excuse to have a termination. I think if the majority of people waited till they could afford a baby, the world would be pretty empty.

But if they did there wouldn't be half the strain on the benefits system!
The RSPCA wouldn't let you adopt a dog if you couldn't afford to why should it be a different scenario for a child? Surely that's even more important?

I'dlike to give my children the best i could afford and the best opportunities in life. I'd be doing the direct opposite if i had another child without the means to fund another life.
  • Lots of love and best wishes to you TaS. Make sure you take it very easy tomorrow afternoon if you can - I recommend hot chocolate, a fluffy duvet and your favourite movie.

Look after yourself ... maybe you won't want to come back to the thread if the 'debate' is still going on, so best wishes from me.

Hope all goes well, I've no doubt this wasn't exactly an easy desicion, but I'm glad you've decided what's best for you and family. Look after yourself, and as someone else said if you need a day off work then take it
