Just goes to show how out of touch and mis-informed you are.
Discrentionary housing pyaments. Used to top up rent. But they're usually time limited and not everyone who applies will get one.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

according to another post .....
Not posted by me but by someone who thinks they know my circumstances!
As ive said again and again ....
I am ok, i have all i need. I am arguing on behalf od the thousands of people that are struggling.
Iot seems such a foreign concept to so many of yoyu ... Sticking up for other people .....
Sorry if i have it wrong but you have said you get direct payments of £1000+ a month to pay someone to run your bath and take you to the gym etc. then there will be ESA, Housing Benefit, Council tax support plus DLA.
Seems like you are extremely well supported by the government and LA.
I stick up for the taxpayers funding all this largesse, many of whom are poorer than the people they are forced to support.0 -
What does DLA have to do with it?
DLA is a non-means tested benefit so has absolutely nothing to do with any discussion in this thread.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

But how many of those tax payers are so disabled that they need direct payments? If you have direct payments, you don't see the money and you certainly can't spend it on whatever you want.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Please show me when I attacked you ! I pulled you up on something which you said and you didn't like it. oh dear I will not stoop to your level.Play nice  Just because I am paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get me.:j0 -
which is why i said according to.
So once more.you posted about a blind person.which you apparently are.so what else do you expect from the state?(for a blind person)
a blind person needs to be familiar with their surroundings. Hone wise, thats fairly straight forward. They walk into a few walls and they learn.
Community and support are the important factots.
Put a blind person in a new town 10 miles away ... No friends, no community, no support...
You moght as well send them to the moon.
Without support, they will not learn where the shops are... Where the pub is, where the post office is ....
Blindness is terribly isolating unless you have support... End of
it isnt about money ... That is the least of the issues0 -
those with hrc need night and day care and so qualify for the extra room for a carer
Only if someone claims CA for them. If they live alone they then lose their SD premium.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
What does DLA have to do with it?
It is a far better indicator of need than qualification under DDA. Have you ever read the act? I can find a link for you
The impact assessment was poorly carried out. That is a fact. Until such a time they address this no one can say with any certainty what level of disability they have. People will position themselves as no one has needs to everyone has.
A full and comprehensive impact should have been carried out but wasn't. That is key to all arguments. Without that data no one without psychic abilities can say they "know" who is affected as it was a flawed baseline of data.0 -

They dont fund some kind of lavish lifestyle.
Would you think it was right if i survived on toast and had a wash in cold water daily?
Probably you would0
