Why are they allowing the uploading of NI numbers and licence plate numbers? This is a huge identity theft waiting to happen. I do not expect premiums to go down, they will do the same as every year they will just keep rising, so this is just another way of allowing corporates to spy on youBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I have some points from around 10-15 years ago still on my ragged piece of paper which I could get taken off, but I think this means applying for a new plastic license. Does this new system change anything?
The paper counterpart to the driving licence photo card is due to be phased out by 2015 while it was announced in December that paper car tax discs would also be scrapped.
not sure if this answers my question: will we retain the old paper licenses we already have and will points after 5 years be not on the on line version? Could I rely of the insurance companies not hiking my insurance anyway? Otherwise a very good idea.0 -
Shouldn't that headline read:
"Online driving records will increase car insurance for those who've previously fibbed, but won't have any effect whatsoever on the majority of drivers"?
Forgive my cynicism, but the insurance industry isn't exactly known for its efforts to control its costs or the price it charges the consumer.0 -

I guess this might prove embarrassing for certain officials!0

You car insurance therefore is invalid as you have failed to disclose a material piece of information which has a direct bearing on how much you pay for your cover. If you have an accident, the insurance company (when finding out about those points) is likely to simply cancel your insurance and leave you twisting in the wind.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

Was actually just thinking how stupid it is that we still have the paper counterpart in this day and age."You are entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts" - Arthur Schlesinger

Any reason you've not applied for a plastic licence to date? You'd have no points on your licence if you had.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

Banks already have these data on most of us so now HMG is giving them a whole truckload of confirmatory data plus evidence of traffic misdemeanours ? Just think what will happen when they log in from India and all the illegal organised crime databases are all updated for free using the newly released HMG data.
