I was in labour for 28 hours with DD1 and ended up having a ventouse. With DD2 I was induced as I had preeclampsia and I was in labour for 13 hours and ended up having forceps. I was violently sick with both of them and had a terrible headache with both. At the time of my second pregnancy I found I was spending a lot of time with women who were on their first pregnancy who didn't seem to know what was in store. I think they think it's going to be all fluffy toys and pretty dresses but they don't tell you about cracked nipples, backache and stitches.

The sickness and headache - are likely to have been a complication of the pre-eclampsia.

You fill me with joy re: childbirth! Lol:j

The cracked nipples pass after a few days of toe-curlingly painful feeds lol! Especially with the aid of a couple of savoy cabbage leaves shoved into your bra.....it's non-stop glamour being a parent, did no-one tell you? :rotfl:

    OMG! I just remembered!

During labour with my first son, I was induced and had an epidural to keep my BP down (pre-ecclampsia). So everything was going good.

Sent hubby out at around lunch time to go get food for himself. I was having contractions, but they were not too bad. All in all I was fine.

Did a pee in a chamber pot thingy and thank God, I was done and all covered back up, sitting up watching telly when the door opened.

We all looked round expecting to see hubby standing there, instead was a very shocked, pale looking man, who looked at me and muttered 'oh Im so sorry, I think I have the wrong room'.

I was in stitches! At least I was all dignified and covered up, imagine if it was business time? Well, I doubt I would have been caring, but he would have got an even bigger shock!
