    Sorry, rant coming up!!

When we started our joint savings account 5 years ago we were putting what we had left at the end of the month from my wages, wife hasn't worked for 8 yrs! I then had an accident from which I was unable to work, badly broken ankle and I was an HGV driver. When I recovered, I was told that I'd have to take out my own insurance in case I fell over on job and sued them!!, £3000 a year at the time!!!
It was then that I started doing car boots. A friend of mine used to take delivery of a certain charity shops goods who recycle stuff they don't sell after 3 weeks. I was doing OK, until I found this thread. What an eye opener it was. I went from selling second hand goods to new ones.

Before I found this site, money was really tight, so nothing was going into our savings account, in fact, it was pretty much empty! As it was I that found you lot, it was me that done all the running around to get glitches and bargains, my wife stopped shopping!
From then on I've managed to make enough money to survive week to week without using the maintenance and child tax coming in, only using it for holidays and household stuff.

Question... As I was the one to pay for everything and her money was saved, do you think I should be entitled to any of it?

    Sorry, Rant over. :o

I will be honest now scamps. When I told mine to get out we had no savings account or savings because of him wasting it on beer and gambling. But if we had I would have only taken half of it . Taken my name of the account and thrown card , book etc at him with half the money in.

when peeps are doing these burger shops, are you using the PP from the previous day as part payment?
If so, does the SA ever say anything?
I always feel guilty handing over a big PP and receiving another one back from the same shop.

Lol this yr my oldest daughter (18 in June)will be wanting to hang out with me as she is just getting back from Greece 2 days b4 we leave for SB which i don't mind as i can show her what it is all about and where not to go.

Sounds good, but don't let her out of your sight! Did you see those young me!:eek::eek:
M&S coupon shop today - £10 meal deal (veggie), 3 ready meals, 3 tins of soup, plus reduced tub of flapjack (not in pic, also millionaire shortbread not in pic - forgot to include!). Got the flapjack as I was unsure about wine price (no SEL), so got it to make sure the total was over £25.
    Total £27.63 ... £7.63 to pay.
This was at SS till, and SA was stood next to me the whole time (I was only customer), watched me scan both coupons, even watched me accidentally put both coupons in the carrier bag (oops!), and even watched me put just one £10 note in slot to pay. He never batted an eyelid. Must be my cheeky smile.

I'd done my homework before I went, and drawn up a list of all the possible options, with RRPs, offers, and totals before discount. Then worked out several different buying options, which I scribbled down on another list.

    So, happy Jelly:D

    But there's more...

I cannot believe how easy it was.

Does anybody in your house eat meat? Although I am Veggie, everyone else is a meat eater, hence the gammon! On this shop I did not get any cannelloni.. it was nice! It is on my list for next week x

Yes, Ive had the sparkly boxes twice. £50 for 6 bottles though. One had 2 high end (£40+) bottles in and one had 4 :D and everything else in them was quality as well. Mostly champers and a few good sparkly wines. Not for everyone, but I was happy. They don't come up often though.
The boxes aren't usually as cheap....I've never saw them as low as £36 before

FC can you taste the difference between a £3.99 and £40 bottle of wine? I don't know why I am asking this as I like lambrini!

    I am totally vanilla!

I did it.... bought a meal deal with wine, used the two vouchers and even had mum with me, I bribed her to be quiet with a pack of bacon! I would have died if she had shouted (like she did in co-op) that we were stealing from them! :D:D:D

A pack of bacon lol . That's it you listen to Susie I won t steer you wrong :D
  • I've warned him that he will most likely have to seek legal advice

He is taking this further, but we aren't dealing with that kind of extreme. Thankfully. But I am surprised that they let it go so easily

Unfortunately it is not uncommon for parents to make false allegations about each other or to have different standards of behaviour and that is not for social services to sort out. They are mostly not resourced to deal with parenting issues but to identify and attempt to minimise risk. However I would hope they have recorded the referral and if the school for instance also notice issues with your nephew and refer it is likely ss will investigate further.
Not an easy situation to be in.
:hello: The grass is not greener, it just looks that way from a distance :hello:

I do, I try to get hold of the receipt before it comes out to save embarrassment!

It is less embarrassing with the new PP. The APG, you have to show them the receipt with the items you have just re-purchased! I smile sweetly!

    Tenth Anniversary
    I've already had a rant

But I don't know Scamps, I assume that as the money that was in the account it traceable to the wife that she has first dibs! The courts really do not like getting involved.

I am wondering what the hell your wife did all day!

    :o:o:o:o

That's what the solicitor said, it traces back to her!

Her parents are very much money orientated so it was a good look that we were saving money. At the least I thought I was pleasing them. :o

When she left it was her parents who told her to strip the accounts!

All my wife did all day was 'faff' moving furniture from one side of the room to another! I could go upstairs and come down to fine the lounge or kitchen totally moved about, go upstairs and come down to find it in the previous position. God, it was challenging. :o
