I am sure I am going crackers - I was convinced that there was a John Lewis in Birmingham city centre but I think I've imagined it :o

My plan was to go to my appointment tomorrow and then go onto Birmingham collect one item Ive ordered and then go to JL get my free cake and coffee and get something else Ive ordered - nice and neat and all jobs done in one day

Now I wish I'd got the click and collect delivered to Liverpool instead - wondering now if Liverpool has a JL
The other thing I was getting from JL I''ll just have to get click and collect from our nearest Waitrose which is a 10 mile round trip :(

    Big JL in Liverpool One.

Can't wait for this (the TdF, not the road closures)

Actually, although they're coming through my town, pleased to see my roads to work aren't affected, so will be out of the area the day they come through :T

Have enough of day to day cyclists cycling in all conditions, in all levels of light, with pathetic lights that they think make them visible.

When they're cycling in a line, I can cope with that, but when they start riding 2/3 abreast, and taking over the road, I become more than a little cross with them.

So although I appreciate there are cycling enthuisiasts who are warmly welcoming the few minutes of the TDF they'll get to see if they're at the roadside, I will not be joining that throng!

I've recently started 'jogging' in my case more appropriately labelled 'even walkers go faster than you' but hey I'm outdoors and sort of moving ;) I'd really appreciate recommendations on the footwear one should be going for. I purchased running trainers by Karrimor but have been told that because when held in the hand that the toe section can be squished upwards towards the heal it proves that there is not that much support.... what do you guys look for / think is best ?

    TIA :)
Sorry, know absolutely nothing about running shoes - I don't do running :o the best I can manage is a mile jog with the Bub. For the stuff I do I have court shoes which are totally different or barefoot ones which are brilliant. Gonna get these soon - someone told me I should get more colour in my life :D

Sure someone more knowledgeable will be along soon to advise :)

I've just taken it up too, and your description is way better than mine :D

I went up sports direct and annoyed the hell out of them, trying all the shoes on for size then prancing about in them.

I found two pairs out of about 40 that I tried. I ended up with 2 pairs of reebok and other than the water retention, which I can't blame on the shoes, I can't fault them.

As long as they are supportive to all parts of your feet, you should be ok.

Most proper sports shops do free gait analysis so they can tell you what type of shoe you should be looking for

    Cheers QOC, appreciated :D

Those sure are colourful :D Thanks for taking the time. I purchased barefoot trainers for my Mum on the Amazon lightening deal....unfortunately she can't get used to the feel...I'll just have to keep encouraging her just how good they are for her.

I don't know if it'll help but if you are walking rather than jogging when I did a midnight walk last year i was told in the sports shop that i should get proper walking trainers not running (can't remember why though).
